I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Benz Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Mercedes vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and EFi injectors clean as new!

this car has a lot of things that new cars dont even have, like hydraulic front seats as rear seats (not sen often) hydraulic windows (faster and quieter than electric) a 6,3 l v8 that could reach a speed of 200km/h carrying 4 passangers of a totall 3 tons!! now thats amazing for a car thats 45 years old!
@clarktista1 you mean the w116 450 SEL 6.9 then yes but not w100 600 (1963-83) that had 6,3 250hp (in the vid) :) that engine which later was put in the w109 300SEL
@coolakiIlen007 this had a 6,9 3 speed this one is a older engine than the 6,3 with 4 speed but 6,3 drive's better but this is a 6,9 3 speed with 250hp
@clarktista1 you´ve mixed that up, when they first were going to make the big 600 Grösser in 1963 they had to develope a new engine (the 6,3l 250hp v8) that later were put in the w109 300SEL 6,3 about 1968-1972 i think. then in 1973 they started with the w116 which got the 6,9l v8 with 3 speed gearbox. so if this 600 in the vid has a 6,9l v8 its taken from a 450SEL 6,9. :)
There was an AMG 600 engine 6,9 litres giving 420 HP for armoured 600 cars of statesmen install that into this lightewight 600 and it goes 12-13 o the quartermile
this is the best mercedes ever built.a true legend v8 6.3l engine mass of power and torque but surely too heavy for a race it isnt built for racing it was the contrapart from germany to the arrogance english rolls royce limos.and it worked well it was a bestseller in the sixties.what a shame they didnt continue to built it just until 1980 the last 600 Pullman were released.
