The relation between a graphics processor and a core processor goes as follows. Your graphic processor will take the heavy loads of games while your processor will take the remaining work and every second it will stabilize your system in relation to the work load and power. Get a medium processor if you are on a medium budget. But get a banging GPU and you will get good result. Get an FX 4 core for god's sake and combine it with a 6.5k+ series gpu and you will be content unless you are a brat.
I bought this too, it had good reviews as well @ newegg but now people are mixing shit up there. I really think this mobo is good if you are a medium gamer that plays a low end mmorpg game and want to farm. However, this is the big however, I have brought the case, nzxt phantom midtower and the mobo only. I am not a salary person, i am a college student with a minimum wage job so buying the parts will take a while. The mobo is fx 8 ready and I plan on buying the fx 4.
@TheVenemoth i think its a good mid range board has lots of features good overclocking options way better then a $80 budget board. so this should be a very good mobo for you.
@arvelswh the mother board is not what controls gaming performance. Please take the thought out of your mind that the mother board, Internal hard drive, and Processor great influence and determines gaming, because it does not. With the mobo, processor, and hard drive combined it does only 40% actual work for gaming, the true worker and laborer for games are video cards. Get this written down: 4 core (any 4 core) + Good ventilated graphics card= cool gaming.
@arvelswh a lot of people make the mistake of completely depending on parts that they believe will benefit gaming. The mother board hosts the other pieces. The latest mother board will host the latest innovations while the previous gen mobos hosted products for their time. The mobo will not make your game any better, but it will allow you to have and keep new processors and hard drives like the ssd and video cards. Video cards is what you want to spend your buck on.
@arvelswh in a nut shell this mobo is great for new games, control your heat sinks wisely and get a good internet speed if your games are online, then your good. System performance is depended on how good your internal HDD or SDD can read and write data. Video game performance is depended on how expensive is your GPU is. Stabilization of your entire system and smooth processing in times of idle farming gaming or regular gaming depends on your processor, ram, and a little from the mobo.
Sweet motherboard. I got it running in my system right now. Hope you love it as much as i do. Have your cpu yet?
I kinda wish i woulda gone with the Extreme 4 just cause the extra x16 slot but ehh, no biggie. I heard that a slot running at x4 doesn't affect the performance of a 2nd gpu all that much.
looks like a really good board, I think Asrock has made some really nice recent motherboards, The quality is there in their product. It has gold caps doesnt it i could tell from the video.
@SylentCommando i like Asrock they have been making very nice ones recently. i am not sure what type of caps they are i know they are 100% Japanese caps Asrock calls them DuraCap.
will this support 1866 ram
