  • Ahhh all that Baroque Bass.I get in some kind of trance of going back in time when I hear the organ play. What I envision, the place looks very dark and cold, but I see many lighted candles that go in each step, illuminating the spinning, stone stair. I smell burning incense mixed up with scented oils. Hehh, I go up nervously and at the end of the stairs, I see a heavy black curtain. I open it slowly, I see many creepy shadows, so I stay behind the curtain, just staring. Ok, I am dreaming.

  • @Scorpiusgrl good dreaming ;-) happy this video inspired you

  • Just great. I heard the instrument had some pipes made of bamboo. Any truth to this?

  • the bamboo pipe oragan is at LAS PINAS about 4 miles from the cathedral. they have a week long concert every year.

as far as i know the cathedral organ does not have any bamboo pipes, but will look next time i visit, as improvistion occurs in the philippines.

  • There are no bamboo pipes in the Manila Cathedral pipe organ. I know the company that restored the organ in 2006. It is interesting to know that the organ has more than 5,600 pipes and was once considered the biggest pipe organ in Asia.

  • not in Manila Cathedral...

the Bamboo Organ is in Las Piñas

  • Insanely cool! It's leviathan! I wonder if I could fit down one of those pipes... hmmm...
