  • i love how he says " i dont want it to become a form of entertainment here" look at the ratings, NY watches the shit out of it. news fash bob, IT ALREADY IS A FORM OF ENTERTAINMENT HERE.

  • MMa is too dangerous and boxing isn't? lmao

  • "ultimate fighting" lmfao

  • well considering it boosts economy...

  • New York is one of the most dysfunctional states in the country. The ban on MMA is such a joke.... imagine the money it would bring in at MSG and especially in Buffalo.

How many fighters have died from boxing?

  • @Drpepper687 I'm from Syracuse originally and it's ludicrous that MMA isn't sanctioned in NY, no thanks to guys like Bob Reilly who don't know jack squat about it.

  • they gotta stop calling it ultimate fighting. its called mixed martial arts!!! you stupid reporters. dumb bitches

  • the paralysis of a competitor is a reason to NOT have MMA? well then pull the plug on the Giants, the Jets, the Yankess, the Mets, and every other sport that takes place in NY. and we certainly can't have the Olympics. skaters getting their faces cut, bob sledders dying, decathalon runners becoming dehydrated and hurting themselves; all these sports must go... especially b/c there is a RISK of injury. so is walking across the street, but that's an easy fix, just ban cars! ur an idiot Bob.

  • its not 'ultimate fighting' the sport is MMA

btw why were 'akido' guys wearing jujitsu/judo gi? lol

  • I don't know for sure about that place, but at many gyms where I've been a lot of clubs share the facilities using a rolling schedule, simply to save some money on rent.

  • "...the recent paralysis of a competitor." Ok Bob, I agree. Youre right. Now call the NY Giants, the NY Jets, and every boxing commissioner out there. We've got to start all this brutal sports nonsense.

    What a douche!

  • Hey Bob Reilly...fuck off! UFC at MSG

  • Madison Square Garden niggahhhh UFC 104 Fedor vs. Lesnar

  • Bob Riley is old ignorant scumbag

  • This is big news for MMA fans New York needs to get with the times and legalize MMA

  • MMA was at one time legal in New York, I attended a UFC event at the old Buffalo Memorial Auditorium. Then that cocksucker Pataki passed legislation on the eve of an event to be held in Niagara Falls making you wear protective gloves and headgear. I thought for sure it was legal by now, but I guess I was wrong. I think Vince McMahon has a lot ot do with this too. He has the NYS Athletic commision in his back pocket so nobody can run competition in NY with him.

  • yes MMA was legal in the State of New York but when the UFC was going to run in Buffalo it was the New York Times that had a article stating how could this barbaricness be allowed to take place in NY. Your Vince McMahon point has absoly no validaty as McMahon is powerful with people who run MSG but not with any atheltic commision it is more of the State thinking that the sport is no holds barred. If McMahon had that much power their would be no Boxing PPVs in New York

  • and TNA recently ran shows in New York with no problem apparently

  • well their were ticket problems but that was a Ticketmaster error

  • thats cause wrestling is fake :/

  • I'm not typing this to start an argument because if it turns into that, I'm simply not going to respond but its obvious that you don't understand my point for mentioning wrestling. It's not a matter of whether or not it's "fake", to quote you, its whether or not someone's pull or connections could prevent another company to have an event in the state.

  • oh, well I dont think a company a small wrestling company (compare to the wwf) can pose a threat on a huge company like the wwf, UFC is much bigger than TNA

  • coz they're "PRO" wrestling lol, we all know its fake

  • When was the last time there was a boxing ppv in New York? They're usually in Las Vegas. Vince has also promoted boxing matches in the past. Vince has a lot of pull with the athletic commission of NY. He's not the most powerful man in NY State, but he's got pull.

  • If this legislation passes in the State of New York which at this rate i think it will this will be HUGE for the sport as they now will be able to run in a important market. Right now MMA in the State of New York is not that big when looking at States that order UFC or other MMA PPVs but it should persuade many other states and hopefully my home Province of Ontario where MMA is MASSIVE to legalize the sport.

  • Quit calling it 'ultimate fighting' you dopes!

  • hush up. it's all fake anyways, unlike my wwe wrestling, bless there souls, thats real !. dig it bro

  • interesting...i thought ufc had run shows in NY in the past...guess I was wrong

  • well the UFC was supposed to run a show in the state of New York(in Buffalo to be exact) back in 1997 after the state passed laws allowing MMA to take place in NY and there was no problem but a rival MMA promotion called Extreme Fighting worked the state of New York and said they were running MSG and Mayor Guliane got word and flipped and then banned the sport in the State of New York causing the UFC to move on 24 hrs notice to the state of Alabama

  • all that actually took place after the New York Time ran a article about how could the State of New York allow such a barbaric event to take place in their home state and then all the stuff in the previous comment took place

  • No there was an event in Buffalo (pretty sure Buff. might have been another city in ny) but then it became illegal it was legal at one time.

  • yes it was sacitioned but once the UFC was going to run NY the NY Times freaked and that lead to all the backlash in my previous comments

  • o ight my bad.
