I think as a first attempt that is a pretty good landing. I have tried this several times and im still not as good. Just try isolating the GPWS before landing next time :-)

Flying the beast (a.k.a 747) on your own is not that easy.

That's why I enlist the help of a virtual co-pilot so that I can focus on flying.

TrackIR is very helpful. But I also use something known as "Muti Crew Experience" (for which there is a free Demo). I just bark voice commands, and the virtual co-pilot dials heading, speed, altitude an many other things for me. All you need is a headset to check it out. :-))

u should land before the RWY end! Thrust Reverse over 60kts is dangerous for the engine. You should use any map!

Landed late and turned early! Pitched up a bit too much during the turn. Try keep a steady turn rate and speed so you won't have to pitch up. The lead in light should help guide you. Nice scenery though

Just a piece of advice.. one usually inititiates the turn when you're at 700ft AGL on a normal approach glideslope.

@VIPBaller if you have fsx it should work. search for VHHX in Airport ID or search for hong kong in cities then choose the one with ID VHHX. The airport name should be (as i remember it) Hong Kong Intl (Old)

While you should have gone around being that high above the ground (in RL at least), the thing that matters is that you get the thing on the ground and made it without sinking the boat. Its a pretty darn hard approach. Even having flown planes in real life, occasionally I still botch up in Flight Sim whenever I fly into this airport. Often times, I'm too lazy to go-around myself :). Amazing framerate in your video btw; I have a similar setup and mine runs a bit choppier :)

yes it includes an ILS approach, but you can't make it all the way with the ILS you have to make the turn to the runway yourself

i flew there the other day in a cessna skyhawk (i daredn't try a jet first time). But when i looked on the map - it came up as a pink airport , not a blue major airport. therefor there was no ILS feather or NAV1 number on the map! i dont think it does have an ILS approach

You'll need to add it manually as VHHX is not an active airport anymore.

If you do a google search for "vhhx pmdg" there are loads of comments on a number of sim forums on how to do this.

Well the runway has lights which show your altitude on the GS if your visual. The airport also has an ILS approach which requires a visual for the last sharp turn. Takes a while to practise the turn. As long as you get the turn right and don't stall you'll be fine ;)

Kai Tak's final approach was exactly as I had flown in it the video. Search for some real footage of it, it's interesting stuff.

The display properties are mostly turned to full, at busy airports frames can get a little low, but not enough to spoil fly.
