i love chip foose, but i dont agree with him when he said vw didnt abandon a great form, they just enhanced the details. i dont see any resemblance between the older vw beetle, karmann ghia, the vw thing or the bus when comparing them to any of the newer vw's built after 1980. in 1998 vw came out with the all new beetle. it looked really similar to the original design, but in my opinion it just looks like an ugly feminine car now. and i think ferdinand porsche would be very disapointed.

@valensi1988 I'm pretty sure it's a regular ballpoint. In my experience, it's those AD markers that don't bleed the pen.

@valensi1988 its not the pen, the markers make the difference. Copic, prismacolors and touch markers melt with the ball point pen ink. Chartpacks doesn't melts like the other ones. try it I hope you find this comment helpful cheers

I usually use Letraset ProMarkers, and they are a mess when I prepare my base sketch with a ballpoint: they kinda wash away the ink, creeating ugly blueish streams.

I've never tried Copics and I really think I should buy some!

@valensi1988 yup dont mention it!! chart packs does not melt with the ball paint at all...try also using bleed proof sheets or vellum paper it does help not having to worry about the paper absorbing all the marker! I'm currently studying industrial design seeking a transport design education, if I can help you with anything more please let me know

@PedroGuedes747 its pantone markers, i have a few letraset tria markers, there are expensive to get them all (i think there are about 148 maybe more colors markers). if you know how to use them you can make fantastic artworks, some artist are using pastels, brushes, airbrush and colored pencils. btw the oldschool cars are better than all the new crap they sell on market the last decade...

Blue sport (TDI) isn't dead. It survives in the the Touareg, the Q7, the A3, the Jetta, etc. the problem is VW's core customer base is cheap lower level income desires, compared to the Audi Bentley, Lambo counterparts and so they have to

I have a mk2 coupe, mk4 .:R, and had a mk4 1.8t. mark2's just feel completely different and can not be beat. Foose is a legend and to hear what he said about VW's is inspiring.

I've had a Mk2, MK3 and a MK4 and I have to agree with the man Foose the MK2 is by far the most fun to drive of all the VW bodystyles. VW have yet to match the way it felt on the road. I llove all VW's but there is a special place in my heart for the MK2.
