Porsche has more hp and most likely more torque due tuning and turbo obiously. Power and Torque make up the acceleration. In this case the Porsche driver just failed to shift properly with the manual.

Partially wrong...the LP560 has a sequential paddle shifter and no clutch pedal so that's correct. But the 997 Turbo HD has a sequential shifter WITH a clutch pedal. So it's not just timing ,it's how you drive ,at least for the porsche. And from what i've seen ,Hans knows how to drive. ;)

The Nurburgring test track has been the proving ground for cars for decades, a VIPER blew out every ferrari, porsche, lambo, koenigsegg, bugatti, and pagani tested. And technically the fastest car in the world is the SSC Ultimate Aero... which is american
The viper wasn't a stock car so it doesn't count in the same league. Its in the R class, and its pretty much at the bottom of that in Nurburging lap times, i think its a Porsche that holds the record in that class. Also that SSC would probably fall apart after a day driving it. Its shit.

The GT-R is a good car in it's own way, but it represents all that is wrong in the direction that Japan has decided to take with their sports cars, as compared to previous decades. The focus has become on bigger displacement, slower revving V6s and V8s, with lots of accessories and auto/Dual-clutch manuals as the only option. I think making R35 and even to a lesser degree the Z33, was a mistake for Nissan. For the record I have owned Nissan sports cars for 20 years.

Lambo looks great. Ive had 997's since 05. Most usable sports car on the planet. What other sports car goes 60k on a clutch and costs less than your average ford to service @20k service intervals and never breaks down because its over engineered.
im sure the pors would eat the lambo in the 1/4 mile, but the top on the lambo is 220mph, and the pors is 209mph

You probably don't laugh as much once you realize those cars are stock and that they still will whip your American muscle cars on rolling start especially when few muscle cars are even able to climb close to 300km/h line. There are exceptions like Saleen S7, but then again that cars follows more of a European car design. :) We beat you in corners and on straight (well as long no engine mods are allowed).

The GT-R is a good car in it's own way, but it represents all that is wrong in the direction that Japan has decided to take with their sports cars, as compared to previous decades. The focus has become on bigger displacement, slower revving V6s and V8s, with lots of accessories and auto/Dual-clutch manuals as the only option. I think making R35 and even to a lesser degree the Z33, was a mistake for Nissan. For the record I have owned Nissan sports cars for 20 years.

Lambo looks great. Ive had 997's since 05. Most usable sports car on the planet. What other sports car goes 60k on a clutch and costs less than your average ford to service @20k service intervals and never breaks down because its over engineered.
