@valstar: Yes, since 1979, we have had German Genealogy research success in Alsace-Lorraine (Elsass-Lothringen) & Silesia (Schlesien). Both of those provinces were, pre-WW1, a part of Prussia (Preussen). We handily perform effective & productive German Empire research in numerous countries of modern-day Europe, from Belgium eastward to Russia! Yes we can decipher the old German handwriting better than the native Germans, for they no longer use it! GermanGenealogist. com karlmsala at msn. com
and I am also part Alcacien I think due to my last name Elsaesser meaning person of Alcase which used to be a part of germany yet all of my family is mostly german but there was so much that happened in Europe that German just isn't a race unlike frenchmen.
the reason why people don't know much about it is because people mostly just think of Nazis as all that happened in germany but there is all sorts of stuff that happened for example I am part Selesian because the nazis were so good at stirring up feuds and lies so that whole parts of poland would accuse each other as having worked for the nazis and so my greatgrandma was one of the immigrants from selesia because the Nazis lied so that catholics and eastern orthodox would fight with eachother.
