I am Canadian but every time I hear Ron Paul respond to any questions/concerns he always seems to answer them in the most honest way. I do not feel Barack Obama is fit to run the most influential government in the world. I am 24 years old and I am scared to death about the future. Everything just feels like its going to collapse and we are the ones who will pay for it. Please if you vote. Be objective. Think about the current generation. @LeahDevorah Actually, if you watch his other speeches and debates, Ron Paul brings up how he would cut out the trillion dollars in spending quite often. Off the top of my head, (You can find the videos yourself :) ) he has mentioned removing the new $1 Billion embassy in Iraq, removing oversea bases from Japan and Germany, and cutting the federal work force payment by 10% (He himself would get less money if elected). Sounds reasonable to me.
I have never missed an election since Carter was president and I was too young to vote, untill two years ago. I have given up. Ron Paul gives me hope and if he is still running when they hit Tennessee, I will vote for him but right now it doesn't look like he will win the GOP. If not this will be the first time I didn't vote in the Presidential ERECTION because the canidates aren't worth shooting, much less voting for.

@NexxGenDrue It's not super promising for anybody else, but you have to consider who we're talking about here. This is a guy that the media said had "no chance", they went as far as to ignore and then mock him, so for him to still be around and on the rise is a very good thing. He's not getting numbers like Romney or Gingrich, but he's far exceeded everybody's (in the media) expectations. So, while 4th isn't as good as 1st, it's a victory for us little guys. @SuperSkyster Ron Paul has repeatedly said that ending the wars is his first priority and that he would not end the entitlements right away due to those who are dependent on them. He is actually the only one doing anything to save those programs. I mean think of all the money we would save by not spending so much on militarism. I think it was 720 million everyday.

Social Security is broke. we have 19 trillion dollars in liability for it, and most are in denial about it. People on it cannot live on it in years to come, and the young people wont have anything in it in the future.

The new system, this is your solution. Because people will find a way to support the older people who need help when they are independent. @SuperSkyster I agree with RealSamFisher, the word "currency" means that it flows, like a "current" and more money flowing from a healthier middle class means money can go to them. If we transition to Ron Paul, it'll be like a putting a crimp on the hose and the water will stutter at first, but then continue to flow. That's better than it drying out all together.
@SuperSkyster Ron Paul wants to end the SS, but it doesn't mean, he is going to throw the people onto the street. He wants to stop the program by not taking any new members and by having transition programs for all others. So if someone is on SS then there is rather no danger for him from Ron Paul.

Ron Paul has said many times he would NOT do away with it but cut 1 trillion dollars, OVERSEAS, in his first year, which would help pay for your social services. @NightRider2013 You may miss the primary depending on when your state has the primary. However the general election isn't until next November so u can vote in that. Remember, if Paul doesn't get the GOP nod you can still write him in. I did in 08.
I believe Ron Paul is the most educated candidate, regarding the U.S. Constitution, and that he is the only candidate capable of following the true sprit of the U.S. Constitution.
My current concern regarding Mr. Paul's views:
When George Washington left office, he advised Congress not to get involved in world affairs.
However, he could not have forseen the advent of nuclear arms.
So, the idea of ignoring rest of the world seems quaint, antiquated, and unrealistic.
@AJtheory Most of the world already has nuclear devices. Iran seriously isn't a threat to America, they have never attacked American soil, we have been the only ones to initiate aggressive action towards them. All attacks towards America have been on their own soil. All of Iran's enemies have nukes and I'm sure it's not to crazy to think they're leveling the playing field. Despite all of that, do you seriously think they have the capabilities to nuke our country?
@AJtheory The worst terrorist attack in American history was through use of our own planes and they were only able to destroy 2 major buildings and damage one. They didn't smuggle guns in, bombs, or nukes. They had to use planes. So the very insinuation that they would be able to bring a nuclear device into American territory is absurd and fear-based. Remember the famous quote, the only thing we have to fear, is fear itself. It make us think irrationally. Ron Paul is right about this.

Somebody couldn't launch a cruise missile towards us without our defense becoming aware of it and then taking it out, much less a larger device such as a nuclear weapon. And considering the technology behind a nuclear weapon, you could blow it out of the sky without causing a detonation. If you think that America is just sitting here completely helpless to a nuclear missile launch, you're wrong. It's a non-issue.

The majority of countries that we have bases in have never posed threats towards us or are no longer threats (Japan, Cuba etc.) So why do we need to continue spending billions if not trillions of dollars up-keeping these bases? 900 bases in over 130 different countries. I have never missed an election since Carter was president and I was too young to vote, untill two years ago. I have given up. Ron Paul gives me hope and if he is still running when they hit Tennessee, I will vote for him but right now it doesn't look like he will win the GOP. If not this will be the first time I didn't vote in the Presidential ERECTION because the canidates aren't worth shooting, much less voting for.

Thanks for all the replies you guys. Yeah, I guess if we weren't spending a million billion krillion dollars on planes and bombs and aircraft carriers and wars we'd be able to pay for everyone's light bills and baloney sandwiches... like... forever.
But I'm leaving that question up there because I think Ron Pauls people should see it, and he needs to go into more detail about it. That issue really is scaring off a lot of potential supporters.

@NexxGenDrue It's not super promising for anybody else, but you have to consider who we're talking about here. This is a guy that the media said had "no chance", they went as far as to ignore and then mock him, so for him to still be around and on the rise is a very good thing. He's not getting numbers like Romney or Gingrich, but he's far exceeded everybody's (in the media) expectations. So, while 4th isn't as good as 1st, it's a victory for us little guys. Hope that helps :)

He is actually the only one doing anything to save those programs. I mean think of all the money we would save by not spending so much on militarism. I think it was 720 million everyday.

Social Security is broke. we have 19 trillion dollars in liability for it, and most are in denial about it. People on it cannot live on it in years to come, and the young people wont have anything in it in the future.

If we transition to Ron Paul, it'll be like a putting a crimp on the hose and the water will stutter at first, but then continue to flow. That's better than it drying out all together.

Ron Paul has said many times he would NOT do away with it but cut 1 trillion dollars, OVERSEAS, in his first year, which would help pay for your social services. Plus America is broke, 14 trillion dollar debt, who is going to pay for the social. If America doesn't transition out, it will be worse when its completely cut because it eventually will be unable to be paid for.

I believe Ron Paul is the most educated candidate, regarding the U.S. Constitution, and that he is the only candidate capable of following the true sprit of the U.S. Constitution.
My current concern regarding Mr. Paul's views:
When George Washington left office, he advised Congress not to get involved in world affairs.
However, he could not have forseen the advent of nuclear arms.
So, the idea of ignoring rest of the world seems quaint, antiquated, and unrealistic.

@AJtheory The worst terrorist attack in American history was through use of our own planes and they were only able to destroy 2 major buildings and damage one. They didn't smuggle guns in, bombs, or nukes. They had to use planes. So the very insinuation that they would be able to bring a nuclear device into American territory is absurd and fear-based. Remember the famous quote, the only thing we have to fear, is fear itself. It make us think irrationally. Ron Paul is right about this.

Somebody couldn't launch a cruise missile towards us without our defense becoming aware of it and then taking it out, much less a larger device such as a nuclear weapon. And considering the technology behind a nuclear weapon, you could blow it out of the sky without causing a detonation. If you think that America is just sitting here completely helpless to a nuclear missile launch, you're wrong. It's a non-issue.

I am impressed by just about everything Ron Paul stands for, and just about everythingh he says...I'm even willing to vote for him, in the hopes that his more 'radical' ideas (i.e. on foreign policy) will be moderated by a voting Congress, if he gets elected (this is something even he stands for).

The majority of countries that we have bases in have never posed threats towards us or are no longer threats (Japan, Cuba etc.) So why do we need to continue spending billions if not trillions of dollars up-keeping these bases? 900 bases in over 130 different countries. How is it radical to propose stopping that? To second that, Iran once again has no capabilities to attack us through the use of nukes.
