Why does money even enter the equation in cases like this? There should be exceptions for the global community where everybody has to help in some way or another without regards to the costs, because this shit can affect EVERYONE. How much plutonium do you need to contaminate every living creature on the Earth's surface? A few pounds? Chernobyl has tons of it, all ready to degrade into radioactive dust that the winds will carry worldwide. It will retain its lethal potential for 1000s of years.
