  • I don't understand why this is at all risky. He is riding an 800. In my hometown every summer we race sleds on the water. My uncle took a 440 Scorpion across; his ski's starting on waters edge. Amazing riding but on his MXZ 500 he just gives it gas and across he goes. Even brand new sleds that sink because of human error (pulling out tether) are up and running in the pits an hour or two later.

  • Is that in Bay city?

  • Palosaaren ulkopuolella variselällä oli syntynyt railo.

  • NICE!!!

  • I think I've seen this video 30+ times I still love it!!! Sold me on an XP thats for sure!!

  • how deep is the water? cause you went slow

  • nice skipping , where were you at?

  • how deep is it?

  • @jagebra750

lol that's the best part, it's surface water(1.5 foot max).

  • @SmalltimR Haha okay :)

  • Going through water like that isnt that hard.. I mean people go 25 miles on long lakes

  • Tää on vissii Suomessa Vaasakö?

  • how were you going so slow at 103

  • @strormlauncher99 its not deep

  • @SuperSlayer123456...... theres prob like 3-4 feet

  • it's partially frozen in sum spots

  • Global warming at it's best: melted body of water with factory spewing wonderful pollutants into the atmosphere to make it worse :)

  • considering its a flowing river and prolly wont ever freeze all the way. And you have been sucked into the global warming hype just like everybody else i see...its a joke for the government to make money

  • haha it was a joke.. Note sarcasm

  • that's steam u idiot...

  • That's a joke you dipshit

  • ah crap.... i dont kno how i missed all that sarcasm that you typed... dumbass

  • hyvä viteo vaasasta... ite sieltä kans..

  • is that the 50 yr edition and nice factory in deh backround

  • its In Vasa, Finland.

  • @twr6 mikä väylä toi on?

  • i think its sudbury...?

  • is that lake ontario ?

  • thats what u though because the smoke stack looks familiar

  • is that lake erie

  • where is this?

  • its just top water , but still amazing

  • i wouldnt be risking that sled like that lmao

  • I would if it were his and not mine.

  • @sk84life8246 Its just water on top of the ice

  • @sk84life8246 its clearly 1 ft deep

  • @sk84life8246 its like 2 feet deep lol

  • @GoosebayStreetPoetry your a dumb ass

  • @sk84life8246 that is one of the best sleds in the world to skip, so i don't think there's any risk if you can drive

  • @TheTRJG untill the belt breaks like they do every 500 miles lol i have the identicle sled love it to death the torque is just more strain than the belts can bear

  • @dooinithard but if you know if your belt is on it's way out or worn abit you should be smart enough not to skip it for a fair distance, don't cha say? And i'd be more worried having the belt get wet then breaking.

  • @TheTRJG wet aint muchof an issue when the front end is hanging in the air and the belts on these sleds dont have a wear factor the deflection is fine on them the kevlar cords just give up because th 800r is such a turque monster they rip into chunks after about 500 miles but you will always have the chance of that renegade belt that decides to give up at 200 instead of 500 not that im worried thats what insurance is for but that shure would make for a cold bad day for anyone knock on wood

  • @dooinithard but i was talking bout any sled in general, not just the 800r. And i guess my uncle is doing pretty good with his new 800r etec, he's got over 700miles on the orginal belt so now it's probably a ticking time bomb. Also his 800 tops out at 117 so far, well by speedometer so not quit accurate but it has tons of tourque like you said, it walks all over an arcticcat z1 and an older apex

  • @TheTRJG fuck yeah they are animals skidoo has since done some reconfig to the clutches and belt since i bought my 09 so the fact of 700 miles does not suprise me gates makes a belt for them that they claim to be indestructible but who knows and yeah id be a little concerned with a sled wetting the belt in general on the water but thats part of having a set and just doing it lol its literally sink or swim mine tops out at 117 also and id never trade it but i hate $100 belts but pay to play

  • @dooinithard correction, his sled has 2100 on it now with orginal belt, and man you areso correct "pay to play" like just tonight i bought an $18.00 head light for my sled and it fucking blew in 15 seconds with the sled just at an idle not being revved or anything, god theres 20 bucks outta my pocket. >:(

  • @TheTRJG wow that is impresive by any means for any belt and you may wanna check your stator thats a sign of it over charging if the headlight blows just tryin to keep that pay to factor play down keep er shiny side up

  • @dooinithard well actually i just bought a brand new voltage regulator cause it was blowin them and that didn't seem to work, but i read online with other people having the same problem and were said that the voltage regulator isn't getting a good enough ground so i'm going to fix that.

  • sleds are funner!!! :P

  • u can also use these as sea doo's lmao

  • thats not a hole in the ice, it's where the ice split and then one part went under the other, called an ice heave, it's still deep though, about as deep as the ice is thick

  • we call them pressure cracks where i come from since the name explains it all

  • where is this nd anyway i have a 2006 rev

  • is this in thompson manitoba?

  • Comment removed

  • yaaa

  • haha ya that makes sence ..but i was just wondering because i was to do that wth mine and one of them it looks like u were going really slow

  • how deep is it?

  • Deep enouth where you dont wana fucking stop or your screwd!

  • theyre in the middle of a lake so im guessing pretty deep

  • Is this in sweden?

  • Where is this? Muskegon lake?

  • to any retards, it is obviously not actually open. look how grey it is, a deep lake is dark blue.

  • there's slush on it, and it could be dirty water, either way, theres no way there would be a puddle in the middle of a lake...

  • its called a hole in the ice

  • really? WOW! i didnt know that. and since you probably dont get it, that was sarcasm.

  • second fastest stock sled on the market, only to be beaten by the 09..

  • that's like a foot deep puddle

  • yea there is a foot deep puddle in the middle on a lake.. :p

  • cuz from 1:00 to like 1:05 he was going to slow to skip water..im pretty sure

  • no there are a lot of videos where they go teally slow and pin it, it gets pretty amazing how they dont sink

  • No they still have their track spinning fast enough

  • tell me how you know its a foot deep..

  • calm down kids. its just a video, and its just a snowmobile..

  • scerw you xandy 1283 your a fuc**** homo your just a pussy cuz your scared your going to singc your sled

  • depends on what kind of mxz you get and just to let you no all the skidoos are mxz

  • how are the mxz's in deep powder?

  • they are drivable, but if you want to drive in powder you should buy something longer the an mxz

  • mxz renegade is great in powder but it also can be ridden on trails.. unlike summits.

  • think he meant the mxz, not mxz renegade :)

  • You said something longer then the mxz, therefore I said renegade dumbass

  • and you said mxz renegade, still an mxz, fuckface

  • Your point...?.. I have a renegade

  • i meant like a summit, rmk, m...

  • I dare u to stop

  • i dont like long ponds

  • no offense but water skipping is kinda pointless....woop de dooo...u went over some water who cares isit that bigga deal???

  • You're a dirtbiker aren't you?

  • LoL

  • nope im a snowmobiler all the way!

  • well if you are so against water, make a video of you, jumping and riding in powder then... or don't you have a sled ??

  • where is that that looks like algoma steel

  • there might have been 6 inches of water there

  • We will never know, now will we? Unless someone drownes in it soon. Not gonna be that ski-doo, thats for sure.

  • MY GOD! yuo guy are acting like you havent skiped water befor...

  • i heer those r hard as fuck on belts but there epic

  • that thing is like a sea-doo holy shit

  • you got alot bigger BALLS than i do!!!!!!

  • @dubby1972 doing it in warm weather is one thing but holy shit it must suck to sink in that

  • @dubby1972 thank you ;)

  • @dubby1972 i Really hope you havent measured :)

  • there was ice under that you would have sunk if you went that slow trust me i have done it before

  • no i've gone that slow on water before and stayed up... but barely, i had to giver because i started to sink at 10 feet through.

  • paljoko tuos oli vettä ?

  • Kyllähän se vaasassa on kuvattu, varisselällä.

  • @twr6 mikä väylä toi on ?

  • Is that hard to do that? I never tried it.

  • no, you just have to make sure you don't go to slow. its sooo much fun

  • It looks like a lot of fun but it also looks dangerous and bad for the sled.

  • its not bad for the sled.. if you slow down and your sled sinks.. then its bad..

  • yea, it is fun, but i cant imagine its good for the sled. lol i just do it on my cousins snowmobile cuz i have a trail sled.

  • yerke ur such a tool u have no idea what ur talking about get a life

  • my sum8 can do that with quarter pin

  • its fun with your belt breaks while your doing that.

  • nice sled and that was sick!!

  • wow. thats pre much the fakest thing ive ever seen.. nice try tho. thats deff not open water. just water above the ice. theres know way u could pull the skis up like that on open water. ur ass end would just sink down. but i do agree wit the sled it is pre much the sickest one on the market rite now! so fuck all u yamaha and cat riders. go skidoo and polaris!

  • cats are the best sleds there are I think because I have all cat snowmobiles and 4-wheelers because my uncle is a arctic cat dealer with his own shop so i kind of have to ride cat plus it is all very cheap.

  • It's all very cheap because it's all such junk. Ski-doo makes quality sleds that are much lighter, and have better performance.

  • i dont know if its the mad torque the xp's have or the virtually weightless front end that allows them to lift skis so easily. put a can on that beast

  • Is this guy taken? if not call me thats hot!

-for all the comments about how fast you need to go to make it across, yes it depends on the sled, but a paddle track does help a ton !!

  • how deep was it there?

  • i have got a 550f and i never go wide open, only iff im hitting a long chanel, but iff im goign to hit a little place i only go about 1/4-1/2 throtel!

  • haha I thought you were going to loose it there

  • nice sled

  • cool vid

  • sweet vid dude!!!

  • dont look to deep =(

  • you only have to go 20-35 kmhs to do water witch isent verry fast!

  • No, u dont it depends what kind of sled you are driving.Like if your driving a 550fan you would have to go wide open but if your driving a Polaris xlt 600 you can go like 5 km/h to do the whole thing.

  • How slow can you actually go with that snowmobile on water? Seemed pretty slow, like it was floating by it self, not the speed:S sick.. i dont get it..

  • They were going fairly fast, you can pretty much stop as long as you got the "paddles" on your track to pick you up again.

  • dude that was pretty sweet. nice job.

  • how deep is the water and how fast are you going?

  • In Vasa, its a city about 600km from Helsinki up north.

  • Dude. Where is that factory in the background. I go to Finland all the time and I do not recognize it. Must not be near Helsinki.

  • kyll suomalaiset osaavat ajjaa....

  • not much water there, but i wont step foot in water on my snowmobile!

  • that is a deadly skidoo

  • Ei ole, ihan Vaasan saaristossa tää on kuvattu

  • oknko tää oulusta?

  • its just water on the ice ? no open water if i see right?

  • yeah like in the middle of the vid he just drove across the water

  • wow guy on the yellow sled, pretty confident letting your nose get that low over the water

  • that would suck balls if you sunk it in that lake

  • How far can you go on the water befor you sink?

  • man the best example of water skipping a long distance that I ever saw was nuts look up April Fools on you tube its amazingly long...

  • man at one part in the vid it looks like you can pretty much just cross that water going like half a mile an hour. is it even deep enough to be considered skipping?

  • There in the middle of a big lake. So i'd say it's really fricken deep where they are! That might just be a small melted spot a 1 foot deep on top of more ice though..

  • yeah true, even if it was only a foot deep, I didn't mean to rip on the guys cause its still a solid vid

  • nice

  • Yes, it´s 100% stock.

  • is it stock? can it do it if its stock?

  • lol @ polution

  • so sick haha

  • no they dont, lynx got all the best stuff -.-

  • lynx is owned by skidoo

    dumb fucker

  • dumbass, BRP owns them both...

  • thats what i meant

    thanks for fixing my mistake

i am a huge brp fan

    hope u r to

  • ok for 1 this skidoo is awsome 2 the shocks are wicket on them and 3 u dont even have to lean back to walk these skidoos on water just sit down and crack on her i knows ive got one all i do is sit down flatin her and up she comes and if i stands up i can walk her for days cuz my weight is 240 lbs the skidoo dont weigh much more then that .....hahaha

  • idaandpeter..... Wow Your dumb

  • ok yes they are light... but ur forgeting a key factor .. the weight is in the center of the sled.. 'ie' the motor is closer to the rider.. so a sled putting out 151 hp with the rider leaning back as much as he can... it shouldn't have a problem pulling the skis.. and cuz hes on water its just that much easier.. but still a wicked video..and sled.. good job

  • Sox05champs you are a fucking retard man, think before you talk, like xpstandardxp said, they have so much power and weigh so little it, takes nothing to walk them. They have the highest weight to power ration.

  • are you fucking stupid, how is that the shocks you dumb fuck. Its because there so fucking light and have so much fucking power, it takes nothing to lift them off the ground, and those shocks do not suck you fuck tard, they are very good for stock, have you ever road one, they are so smooth!

  • that why skidoos xp shocks sux!.when u get fullgas the skis is going up in the sky, thats not the power in the engine its the sucky shocks..

  • it cant be the shocks, they were riding over water u spaz

  • Lol.

  • too bad skidoo has the best suspension out of anybody, and alot of people just soften the shocks so they do wheelies- which they dont need to do

  • thats awesome

  • skidoo power for ya

  • fucking sweet!!
