i played morrowind a couple of times and i have to admit for a relatively old game it is fun BUT whenever i try to attack somebody i can never hit them like never i tryed hitting someone repeatedly and nothing happend they just pummeld me to a bloody pulp with nothing but their fists :(

I prefer the way fight worked back in Morrowind... At least you knew what happened. In Oblivion I have no clue wether or not my opponent has been hit. I don't feel like my sword is bashing and smashing him/her/it. At least in Morrowind, there was some "blood" effect and opponents often felt...

Wow, really? I feel just the opposite (except for maybe the blood part). In Morrowind, the system does not work as actually earning the hit when you hit them. It goes by invisible percentage chances sort of like dice rolls for D&D. In Oblivion, unless you miss your shot completely, you always hit them and the hit is only modified by Strength, weapon damage, additional poisons/enchantments, etc. Anyways. I love Morrowind. I miss a lot from that game that is not in Oblivion (crossbows, etc.).

Well when an enemy recoils or anything you don't really feel like you're smashing it (It mostly occurs with wolves) and I just hate it cuz it's too much.

I love the way Morrowind has it. At least the system doesn't require that much concentration and you can check your health bar and stuff.

I dunno. I've never had too much problem with having enough time to check me health. Especially if I keep a few health potions on hot-key or if I have a healing spell handy. I miss the different skill sets for long blades and short blades from Morrowind as well as Medium Armor. I just feel like those things gave it more variety.

oblivion is one of the greatest role playing games ever. i enjoyed all the quest lines, but the only thing i hated was the melee combat. it's just click, slash. no strategy at all.

@0milamber0 That's why you download a combat mod which revamps combat entirely. Obviously only available if you're playing on the PC. I used to have Oblivion on the 360 which I thought was great. Then, a few years later, I torrented Oblvion on my computer, modded the living piss out of it, and it seems like an entirely new game. It's great! XD

omg the silver claymore is a weak sword but good gainst undead enimies. for a good sword you need the elven claymore or a glass long sword,daedric long sword. lol i allways make sure my enemy is dead good thinking dude

I found a way to pawn at the arena ... all you need is a bow, some arrows, and a high sneak skill.

Thats not as fun as what this guy does.

Also, try encircling your enemies so you can hit them in the back, they will be unproctected. Just go one way, they will follow you, smack their shield, they will recoil and you just run round them. Easy ^^.

I find it funny, they are powerless to stop you.

some enemies are to fast to get around but when you do it makes everything easier. then recoil a lot when you get their back. but if your using a thief or mage it's always best to find a cheap way to kill them.

I can see where you come from, but I find the melee so kinetic and real that I just never tried to specialise in anything else (apart from Marksman once, never tried being a mage). And most enemies arnt fast enough for me, because i specialise in athletics and acrobatics.

I find it best to try everything, then make a great character. I like trying to go through the game with stealth, rather than just bashing people's skulls in.

Fair enough, can't dispute that. Tried it for a while actually, its very fun. I just find magic a bit dull - with melee and archery you get different abilities each level - with magic you just get an upgrade of the same spell.
