  • why are those guys there. are they taking pictures of the train.

  • They don't have to use them in the tunnels, they can go on the other lines.

  • I read Locomotive 4800 caught fire a few days ago but since theres no major damage that locomotive may be out of service for a while. Does that mean they have to use PL42ACs or did they purchase enough of the P40s to have spares?

  • All P40DC's are out of service due to the fire.

  • So what is NJT currently using for the ACES while they are suspended from service? My guess's are other locomotive models hopefully the PL42ACs. Which would have been a better choice then ex Amtrak GE Genesis locomotives.

  • @MrWill1985 The ACES train currently runs non stop from Newark Penn Station to Atlantic City Rail Terminal (and vice versa) with a Multilevel Cab Car and a PL42AC.

At Newark Penn Station ACES passengers must transfer to another train to go to New York, or to go to Atlantic City they must transfer at Newark Penn Station to an ACES train.

  • There not out of service

  • @P40BH All NJT P40BHs are currently out of service.

  • @P40BH I don't care if you love the P40. New Jersey Transit's P40s are as of right now out of service.

  • @Acela150Kid, so what are they gonna do with all the P40DC's?

  • No one knows. I think it was the turbocharger that led to the fire. It would lead me to believe they're changing them.

  • are they gonna scrap them

  • @P40BH they were reinstated in to service a few weekends ago.

  • @Acela150Kid funny cuz they're P40BHs so that rly doesnt say much about NJT

  • Whoa! That is so cool! I have an HO AMD-103 like that and when I saw this, I thought, I wish I could repaint it to look like this! Yeah, It's from Amtrak, Number 825. So, if I repainted it to look exactly like this, it would look awesome.

  • yep that what i was thinking.

  • I was @ Pen Station and the ACES wasn't until l12:46AM Damn you caught a midday one

  • nice

  • nice man. Why didn't you catch the whole train?
