  • i remember reading the book about him called "Depraved"... the book details secret passageways and hidden rooms, Holmes having used multiple contractors that would each only be allowed to build small sections of his "castle" before being fired/replaced so that none except him knew what the building as a whole looked like. that's some seriously sadistic and crafty premeditation.

  • Holmes lived in Irvington, In. for a few years before he fled to Chicago. He took in 2 young orphaned brothers killing them both before fleeing. His house is purportedly haunted & is featured on the annual Irvington ghost walk.

  • Who narrates this clip?

  • Tony Jay.

  • I've heard that Holmes' parents' house is still standing in Gilmanton.

  • Yes Holmes' childhood home is in Gilmanton and featured in my film. I spent some time in there with the owners.

  • @filmmakerjohnb Really??

  • @Utubr500 Yes.

  • TRUELY ONE OF MY FAVORITE KILLERS,, BUT HIS GREED CAUGHT UP WITH HIM,, THATS HOW HE GOT CAUGHT

  • Chi-Town!!! My home

  • Was that the first faire where television was shown?

  • H.H. Holmes was brilliant. best Serial Killer in my opinion.

  • I took this dvd out at the library a few years ago. It is interesting and creepy. I have the serial killers profiling dvd set and there is a part on there about him too its up on here as well...

  • H. H. Holmes nothing better to with his life all he did was jack off to people dying

  • I loved it when he faked out his death so the cops wont get him XD

  • Despite this one bad man, America was truly magnificent in the 1893, no? We had racial unity and homogeneity. The population was almost all White European Christian. Lovely. Now we have thousands of negro carjackers, gang bangers, rapists, illegal brown mestizos, islamic terrorists, etc. running around loose victimizing White America. THESE were the good old days.

  • Last time i checked keeping people as slaves dosent add up to racial unity.

  • I couldn't agree more, America will turn into a 2nd world country and China will overtake it. Very sad how amazing America use to be, even just 100 years ago, but now it's utter trash mostly.

  • it is said jack the ripper didn't quit after london,, that he carried on in new york,, and los angeles

  • hh holmes quite probably was Jack the Ripper

  • @shopper292 He was running a pharmacy in a Chicago suburb at the time of the Ripper murders.

  • Not bad-- But Jack the Ripper did his thing in 1888,

Also-- People who asphyxiate from that kind of gas just go to sleep, and would never know what hit them.

  • Jack the Ripper was in England. H.H. Holmes is America's first.

  • The term "Serial Killer" was first used to describe Ted Bundy.

  • HE WAS KNOWN AS THE WORLDS FIRST SERIAL KILLER BEFORE ANYONE KNEW WHAT A SERIAL KILLER WAS O sry bout the caps lock

  • what could possibly be more beautiful than watching somebody die at your hands? This man is a genius!

  • Oh look, another internet wannabe bad man

  • I want to know if these places still have the skeletons he sold them? or would they have sold them for more money?

  • Chicago sure has changed. lol. I haven't seen any of that and I lived here all my life lol.

  • because they tore it all down the year after the fair was just that a fair, it was never ment to last

  • There is still the one golden lady statue in Jackson Park that is a replica of the Original World's fair . And there is a bathroom still standing in the park as well

  • em sampled this for a song. hh holmes was a beast

  • He didn't ask my permission.

  • this "Serial killer" thing aint new! in 17th century a Huron snuk into Mohawk turf and killed about 30 men women and kids. its from a book i read. his name was Pisquiart. a nickname the French made up for him i think. the Mohawks never caught him.

  • This sicko is from my own state. Remind me to stay away from Gilmanton, New Hampshire.

  • he sold them

  • he sold them as anatomical examples - for medical education, universities - art schools........

  • Not all of the bodies though, he also had a room in the house with a vat of lye to disintigrate some of his victims, but many went to medical schools.

This was one of the best documentaries that I've seen on any serial killer. Very emotive as well as factual.

  • @tialeetull Japp, man gör det man kan för att överleva. :)

  • why no mention of what he did with the bodies?????????????
