Hey, your video has good content, but I am not sure I totally agree with it... I guess that is why everyone has a channel and opinion right? Either way I like the content and the presentation. I picked up a few ideas from this video so thank you for posting. May I ask, how you go about determining what to make video content about? Are you looking for trending topics or are you just making content around what you think people should be consuming online? I am trying to figure out my process...
This is my FAVOR VIDEO of MIKE,and his 1980 HUGHES-500D Helicopter!!! I love it when MIKE is in it starting the Turbine Engine up,and Flying away in it!!!
MIKE is your GARMIN a 430,or 530??? Have you ever tried to replace the ROLLS ROYCE 250-C20B Turbine with a ROLLS ROYCE 250-C20R Turbine Engine??? You would have 30 more Shaft Horse Power!!!
I LOVE Your Beautiful 1980 HUGHES-500D Helicopter you rebuilded!!! Goodbye MIKE,and JIM have a Blessed Weekend.......BENNIE
when I was 18 i landed a job with the forest service, they had a 500 and I flew in it many times, with one of the best pilots ever. It brins back old memories, Thanks
@bigbob10611 - Hi. Speaking for the pilot, when the restoration was done and he was "new" to the heli, there were times, especially when it was breezy out, he would have to back off and start the touchdown approach again. Not so much anymore.
Lovely, quality vid and a beautiful chopper. To see the owner someplace out and about in those shorts, the white socks and the sneakers, dressed like he was on the way to Farmers Market or to get some Fixadent, you'd never guess he kept one of the sexiest choppers in existence at his house.
@BabbittdaWabbitt I got a chance to fly with Denis Kenyon a while back and I haven't been the same since. The guy is a rotary wing deity and despite the fact that he's in his 70s, flies a chopper like a man possessed and still flirts outrageously with the ladies. Relative to him, your pal is a mere adolescent.
The socks and shorts tho'. The socks and shorts.... Having a 500 and getting lots of sex shouldn't be mutually exclusive. It's against the law.
Nice guys like Mike and Steve make the world a better place. At flyins like Homers they gladly chat with wanabes like me sharing interesting info about the 500 and answering questions. Beautiful ship - super nice people...
@ volfinator, the left pedal turn is pilot best practice you could say. left pedal uses power from the engine so there is only so much left pedal you can use before not enough power is avalible, where as right pedal uses no power. So in saying this if in windy conditions you were preforming a right pedal turn for a clearing turn and the wind caught the tail, there would only be so much left pedal avalible to stop the turn, but if a left pedal turn was made and got out of control there would not
Tell the owner I'd wash that booger anytime & even give gas money just to be near that booger. Also, not able to afford a fullscale so I fly the rc version. Love the MD500 series-!
@Rdoubledog -Thanks for watching. Washer/waxer job is filled.
I'm the lucky neighbor w/ the vidcam. The heli is a fun subject for panning and zoom practice. Try to get to the Heli meet at Homers in ohio - it's coming up soon.
I've been wanting to go, but so far haven't made it. I hear it is a good time.
@BabbittdaWabbitt I did enjoy, thank you very much for posting this video. You are very lucky to live next to someone who owns such an amazing rotorcraft. My local police department currently has 6 MD-500E's and I think I'm one of the few who are not annoyed by it. I don't live in such a good area so I see them a lot and they fly pretty low, I've been circled by them a few times before. I have a few videos posted but I think only 1 of the videos was taken during the day.
wow backyard helipad how awesome is that!! either your neighbors are very tolerant or they live far away nice tru vision nose conversion on the d mod great looking ship too!!
Nice video, but someone in my town got in a bit of trouble ( I think:) for trying to fly a heli from his house. You're neighbor is lucky, but so are you to live next to him.
i always loved the MD500s
do you plain on making anymore MD500 videos?

I thought that it was an MD369D and converted to look like an MD 500E.

@bnmarq12- I'm one of the neighbors, and I like him cause he's a great guy, not just because he has the heli.
Now the grumpy old fart next door might not like him BECAUSE of the heli... :-)

@BabbittdaWabbitt i think he said that cause the heli make too much noise for the neighbors.. xD

be a limit of right pedal to stop the turn, so its safer to try and always make your turn to the left when clearing the airspace.

Agree, the sound of the C20 spooling up is a symphony itself, don't like it when people put silly rock music over the start up.
