yeah id recommend it for sure. its strengths are piano and rhodes sounds to my ears, all the other sounds are ok, but korg is promising to add new sounds to the soundset soon so its all good! yes i recommend it in other words!
The Rhodes and Acoustic Piano sounds are great in the SV1, as they are in the Electro 3. The only way to get a definitive answer is to try both, but for me personally the Nord wins as it has the very flexible organ onboard plus user sample upload as well though it doesnt have a weighted board. THe SV1 cant compare to the Nord Stage though, the stage can do so much more with its synth/splits/layers/etc
I like Korg gear and own quite a bit, but the pianos have always been their weak point. Roland, Yamaha and Kurzweil seem to have more depth and richness. What do you think of this one? Sounds good but hard to tell through a compressed YouTube file. Sweet playing by the way!
i am about to by either a Nord Stage 88 EX or this fantastic Korg... my biggest concern is wich of the pianos does the Rhodes/Wurlitzer sound best, and wich of the piano is the biggest joy to play?
The nord wins on features alone, soundwise they are both great but different flavours, but personally speaking id grab the Nord as you get a lot more for your money..
@goldphinga I like how simple the SV-1 is, I love the Nord products, but I'd rather spend more time playing than tweaking... And often I find myself down the oscillator algorithm rabbit hole instead of practicing =\
What are doing @ 1:10 - 1:20 Is it some kind of cycle of 5ths progression?

It seems to sound better than the Electro 3 just from listening here, but it's so hard to tell!
I'd like to know how people who have played both in person, compare this thing to the Nord Electro 3, and the Nord Stage EX 76/88... ?

The SV1 pianos are great imo, though i agree with you that in the past Roland, Yamaha and Kurzweil had the edge, now im no so sure!

Guao... the best Korg, but synthesizers , is the M3 or TR . The SV-1 have got many settings, no screen, no hard manuals... Good

The high end sounds a little bit phony in my opinion.

Your playing is awesome... but it makes everything sound good...
How do you feel about this versus the electro 3?

Espacially in consideration of the keyaction at all.
Which of the two feels more dynamic and controllable in your opinion? (regarding pianos)
