I won at "low levels" that is of you count level 55 with only the final dungeon equipment as my best that is as a low level.

After all I had Big Bang = 4000+ and nobody survived it if I didn't have Phoenix set on anybody I also had its Meteor do even more damage then Big Bang.

my favorite version of this game is the GBA one. The snes one was awesome too, but the gba made the graphics and music slightly better and added the lunar trials which was one of my favorite parts of the game. The DS was the worst of the three, the augments and some of the difficulty added to the bosses made it harder to pick up and play.

When you fight Zeromus put shell, protect, and haste on everyone. Then have Cecil use the crystal to start the fight. Have Rosa immediately use slow on Zeromus, and then go all out and have Cecil attack, Edge throw fuma shuriken, Kain jump, Rydia cast Bahamut, and Rosa heal with Cureja. No matter what piss stank does, (Zeromus), keep this strategy up. His punk ass should go down in less than 5 mins. Worked 4 me, so if this helps anyone a little who's struggling with beating him, good luck..

Zeromus...geez, he was hard. I've gotta get this DS version, it looks like it's a whole lot better than FFIII, which, although fun to play, was seriously screwed over by the mognet bullcrap with the sidequests. I really wanted to fight Iron Giant, but really...who else are you going to find that also plays this game in your general area? Whatever.

when i beaten the game for the original SNES, main was that a bitch! i killed the final boss, and my cousin removed the cartridge.... i wanted to slit is wrist after that! so i beat the game again w/ all characters lvl 60ish so i can get to him faster, and finally saw the ending! now im replaying it for the emulator and its fun again:D

@leonpal14 that was for the SNES those levels. the DS version it was slightly harder for some strange reason but still an awesome game lol. in the DS i was around high 50's 59ish and Cecil was at level 63 cause everyone died at one point and he racked up all the levels :D lmao. but this is the best FF game in my views.

the original NA SNES version was the easiest (apparently, i haven't played that version) and the DS version is the hardest.

the japanese SNES version is in between the two, harder than the NA SNES version but easier than the DS version.

You need Edge to steal it from Odin. If you fight Odin without Edge you can't get it.

I beat him with Cecil at 80 and the rest of the party in their mid 70s, on my first try, w/o tail hunting: The equipment in the Lunar Sub is more than sufficient. Front line was Edge/Kain/Cecil, back was Rydia Rosa. Augments used: Rydia: MP+50 Rosa Omnicast. Equipment: Give Cecil the Crystal Armor and Kain the Dragon Armor. Give Edge whatever. For rydia and rosa ignore the defense attack stats and give them the IntlWisdm increasing armor/weapons. Ribbons and Protect rings too.

Zeromus has two attacks, one removes all status effects from both him and the whole party, the second does party killing damage. While he's still in form one,he won't do anything, so haste the party (omnicast is easy way/masamune gives edge haste if you use it as an item.) Cecil uses the crystal to bring him into form two, so hit him with everything you've got (Rydia: Bahamut/Kain:Jump/Edge:Throw (Start with the biggest stuff first and go until you run out.)Cecil:Attk/Rosa:Slow than Holy.

The only other thing to do is watch Zeromus: He'll dispell the field and start shaking a few seconds later: put everyone to defend ASAP. He'll cast his big bang: anyone who wasn't defending is most likely dead: Pheonix Down them back and have Rosa Curaja/aga the party. Start casting haste again and start attack strategy: repeat until dead.

Protip: Before using the crystal, use edge a few times to try to steal the Dark Matter from Zeromus. Makes battling his true form MUCH easier, as it weakens his "Big Bang" move.

This battle was so easy. I was fearing it for a long time, and judging by how tough the last dungeon was to get through, I thought it would be a rigorous battle.

My party was lvl 61-69, and I beat him my first try. Edge was the only one who ever fainted, and he did only once...

Geryon is at the place on Mt. Ordeals where Cecil becomes a Paladin, after he becomes one, and also in the Giant of Babil where you fight all 4 Archfiends again.

Proto-Babil is on the surface of the moon. Fly arround until you find a face sticking out of the ground and use dark matter next to it.

As for the "Perfect Steal," check the Algorithm FAQ on GameFAQs, I don't know if there even is such a thing as steal success rates don't change throughout the game...

Final Fantasy seems to call for way too much level grinding and/or rare item hunting in a lot of their games. 3 pissed me off with its difficulty and now 4's beginning to as well. That's why i prefer the 'Tales of' series, plus they have more hours per game and wider variety of story.

When you beat him, and the credits roll it gives you a chance a save. When that happens, save on a DIFFERENT file. You'll be starting the game again, on a 2nd time through, with some of the same stuff you had last time through. If you buy some sirens, you can go near Tomra [just outside of it, it's the only town in the underworld] and use them, you'll find green dragons. Not only are they weak at level 44, they give incredible exp and have a chance to drop green tails. [Onion Helms].

You can play on further after beating him...just not on the same game file. After you beat him, the game starts over, but you manage to keep all your "special" items/augments. I would stongly suggest that you train a little bit more on the moon, or where ever you prefer, because you will have a tough time beating him. My whole party was lvl 80+ and I still took two tries. Unless you have some fo those very nice items, you shoudl train a little more.

Try to get the Masamune, then lvl like crazy, because when I fought him on the SNES, and GBA my party was above lvl 70 also. A good strategy is to have Kain jump on every other turn. Then when Big bang hits, make sure Kain is alive so he can revive everyone.

get enterprise to pick up the hovercraft, fly over to the island with the town called "mythril" and use ur hovercraft to get to the palce nearby, the guy gives u adamantite for tails, then you go to underworld and u go to the blacksmith in the bottom right place

well u can get the puddings from some enemies( look them up on the internet), if u finally have received them you go the (whatever)-ingway, he will give you tails instead.

you have probably seen there is a small island not far from mysidia, go there and you are able to trade your tail for a super rare item, like the adamant armor or the onion set.
