  • Agreed with what you said. As according to different people mentalities, preaching c annot be the same for all. As long as the aspirant holds onto the Vedika Marga, he is protected from all kinds of mishaps. As Vedas is breath of Brahman.

  • Thank you for clip. sorry; i do not so much eghlish!

  • because Indian society was divided . Just a thought of mine .

  • One thing I always wonder , if Adi Shankracharya had not driven Buddhism out of India would then the story of India had been any different ? I mean by the countless invasions by Turks , Afghans & genocides accompanying it . Buddhism preaching a casteless society would have done more for the glory of India than Hinduism did looking at the history of Japan etc . Maybe castism was one of the major reasons why invaders having fewer men found it very very easy to demolish anything that came their way

  • The reason the foreign invaders succeeded and still continue to succeed is because there has been a break down of Kshatriya culture and training. There are no more true Kshatriyas , or very few, so we depend on the weak, cowardly, and corrupt to defend us. This extends to outside of India, where irreligious and crime are unchecked and corruption rules supreme in all governments.

  • I disagree......with all respect.....

    1. Buddhism was destroyed because it had already degenerated from inside.......

    2. Caste system helped in the survival of Hindusim. This point is agreed to by Babasaheb Ambedkar also......This does not mean that it should survive now.

    3. There is birth based discrimination in Tibet, Japan also (see "Burakumin" in google)...They are heriditory leather workers

    4. One can look at the Sinhalas for their cruelty against Tamil Hindus and Christians.....

  • See the work which was done by great Adi Shankara. It is because of him, Our Sanatana Dharma has continued to flourish. Advaita teaches mutual tolerance towards all faiths. Such a amazing school of thought.

  • Utka9,First to know about Vedic philosophy first go Vedanta and what by means by Vedanta. Then proceed to know about Advaita school.Because it is not only old from which it is easy to know and understand other philosophies in a true form.If you need any book reference please write to my email.

  • Comments here are so informative. This site is a great channel for learning, thanks to all!

  • this video makes me want to learn more about the Vedas- never knew about Adi Shankara-

are there courses on line or which school do you recommend in both the States and India?

and which videos do you recommend?

  • Adi Shankara was the pioneer and continues to be an inspiration for the work he had done. No doubt Only an avatar of Lord Shiva could have accomplished such feats.

  • Wow when the widom is hungry and BEGS THE LADY FOR THE FOOD. YOU CAN SEE THE GREATNESS OF HER AND REALISE HOW MUCH WIDOM HE SEES IN HER.

  • sanjay4india - Vedanta is a very high teaching - if that teaching could be destroyed by a few missionaries, our religion would not have survived the holocausts of the past 5,000 years. The fact is that Vedanta contains deep spiritual and scientific truths. These truths are eternal - our religion has given a cultural form to an eternal and formless Truth. That Truth will always exist because it is fundamental to the Universe. So do not fear missionaries, there work is in the mortal realm only.

  • Thank you very much for this video.

I was really benefited by watching this.

May I know the name of this movie?

  • Paramathmo Nirakaraha,

as one among you said Chatuvarnam Maya spashtam gunakarma vibhagasaha

man is gr8 by his attitude not his birth

noone is gr8 than the real self,we dont realise that and we start believinh others

everything is with you, body is mortal soul is immortal,

deho devalaya prokthaha jeevo deva sanathanaha tyajeth agyana nirmalyam soham bhavena poojyathe

  • Lord Krishna has said the following in the Bhagavad Geeta (Chapter 2 text 3): "Do not become a coward, O Arjuna, because it does not befit you. Shake off this weakness of your heart and get up (for the battle), O Arjuna." We Hindus must unite and fight the evil forces that are destroying and denigrating our unique culture and heritage. Victory to Shri Krishna!

  • con't from previous post -

Most importantly, please remember that all Hindus are brothers & sisters -- treat everyone with respect & dignity, do NOT let anti-hindu elements divide the Hindus along caste lines -- remember what Krishna has said in the Gita, "one's caste is determined by one's DEEDS, not by one's birth." Everyone is equal in the eyes of God. So, let's all unite & fight for the preservation of our rich Hindu Dharma & culture which is currently under seige. Unite & Fight. OM.

  • We do not aim to criticize Shankara or split Dharma unity, but just to affirm the actual purpos, Shankara is an avatar of Shiva, also a Vaishnava and told his disciplines to worship Govinda, the original progenitor of Brahman and all reality, per Sri Brahma Samhita. We give Shankaracharya all glories. Shankaracharya thank you for defending Veda from the Buddhistic Nihilism.

    SHANKARANANDA VIJAYA.

    SANATANA DHARMA VIJAYA.

    VEDA VIJAYA.

    GOVINDA-PREMANANDA VIJAYA!

    NITAI-GAURA-JAGAD-DAUTYAM KIJAYA!

  • Unfortunately, it has been practice of Iskcon to heavily criticize Advaita. I would say infact they has been improper understanding on their part. Why Advaita has survived all onslaughts and continued to inspire everyone because it gives tolerance towards all Gods irrespective of Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna and Mother Parvati.

We should remember that India is just not famous for Mathura and Dwaraka but Kashi, Rameshwaram and Triyambeshkwar make it famous.

  • The Shankaracharya's mission was to defeat the atheist and criminal brahmins which he did.

  • Shankaracharya said:

    bhaja govindam bhaja govindam

    bhaja govindam muda mate

    prabhu prapte sannihite kale

    na hi rakshati dukrincha karane

"O the foolish! Worship Lord Govinda, Worship Lord Govinda, Worship Lord Govinda. At the time of death, neither your word jugglery nor your grammatical proficiency will enable you to escape it."

  • con't from previous post-

Who are we to judge who is wrong and who is correct? This is all part of God's lila/divine play - In that sense, all ways are true - each person is attracted to a particular way that is determined by the laws of Karma.

  • Great video! A request to all Hindus - Please (for the sake of Dharma), let us put aside our differences, come together as one and fight the anti-hindu elements who are destroying Hindu culture. Hindu culture is so incredibly rich and diverse, has so many umbrella religions which are bound by common threads - there's something for everyone! What appeals to one person may not necessarily appeal to someone else. It's the non-dogmatic, non-invasive way of life that is so special about Hinduism.

  • anti Hindu...isn't tat a Difference? why tat difference? is religion determined by one's birth? Geeta says 'the root cause 4 all the problems u face is yourself'. I believe we need not react whn someone hurts us, instead we can consider tat we deserved tat punishment. whats the point in cleaning the wound without taking thorn out of it? whts the point in retorting the punisher without understanding the cause for punishment?

  • friend (rapture03),

The bottom line is this: if someone is naturally attracted to a certain path, it's perfectly fine.....but the practices followed by the pseudo secular Indian govt, the cunning deceitful missionaries&Islamic jihadis is highly deplorable - they have only one goal in mind - denigration and destruction of Hindu culture &Dharma - this is not acceptable! Watch "Secularism in India Exposed" &"Oppose Christian missionaries" on youtube. The Hindus must unite& fight this injustice.

  • vishistadvaitam = best there is.

    sankara's advaitam comes very close

both are very interesting and very complex philosophies and very good for the hindu dharma

    srimathe ramanujaya namaha

  • Please also take note of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's philosophy of Achintya Bhedha Abedha Tattva which reconciles the seeming opposite differences of Advaita and Dvaita into one unified explanation of reality.

  • Only ignorant people would treat Vishnu and Shiva different.Vishnu and Shiva form the essence of Sanatana Dharma.

So, Shiva and Vishnu are the same.

  • Vishnu and Shiva are expansions of the one Supreme Lord, Vasudeva.

  • Shankaracharya also had the job of making the general population turn away from the Supreme Lord, and become confused, but he always worshiped Govinda in his heart, as he preached the following:

  • Please dont make your Iskcon preachings..we dont know whether all those are authentic or.. first let us know who we are? God is everything and everywhere Please dont limit him to some thing ..Brahman is the highest truth and Krishna is the Supreme Brahman

  • @ajayjeev All are the same. There is no such thing as diversity or multiplicity, there's only *apparent* diversity. "All are the same" = "One without a second". Siva, Vishnu, Brahman, Ishvara, Self, The Supreme, Reality, The Absolute, The One, The Undivided: different words, same meaning. Reality transcends religion. There are many paths to know reality (jnana, bhakti, karma, tantra, etc.); the end goal is the same. It all amounts to the surrender of individuality.

  • The guy who acted as Adi Shankaracharya acted as Shri Krishna in Sagar production of Shri Krishna if I am correct?

  • yes,he is sarvdaman banerjee

  • ?...

  • never seen a shankara movie, nice.

But I have mastered both the vedas, shakara, and buddhism

  • Shri Krishna, Supreme Personality of Godhead, has also said in Bhagavad Gita for clarification: "All paths lead to Me". Dvaita or Advaita, it is the quality of effort (not school of thought) that ultimately determines the result of karmic actions. Nice video, justparms.

  • If all paths lead to the same place, then why practice any Vedanta, simply eat meat and be an atheist? Of course thats ridiculous, we obtain the result according to our path. Advaita leads to undifferenced Brahman white light, Dvaita leads to eternal spiritual form in loving lila with the supreme person, this is above karma, which is a product of daivi-maya. That is the purport of Bhagavad Gita.

  • What a wonderful video. I wish the Hare Krishna movement did not oppose Shankara and Advaita so much.

  • where there is opposition there is ego, where there is ego there is limit. hare krishna mission is an ego limited to bhakti vedanta, those who limit themselves cant attain the supreme(limitless/unlimited/infinite).

  • if the supreme is unlimited, then how can you impose limits on his ability to have form by declaring him formless? advaita vedanta means maintaining ones separate ego as false-lord, what is the value?

  • Before ascertaining whether Supreme being has a form or not. We should know whether we have a form or personality in the first place.

During deep sleep, where is our personality and where is our form?

A True Devotee goes beyond forms and sees God everywhere.

  • well put. in fact, the Hare Krishna sect is akin to christian fundamentalism with a Hindu flavor. They are not really Hindus at all!

  • Please, learn hinduism first and then comment. You may be happy if that is not hinduism but HKS copies everything from Hinduism.

  • Hindu is a persian/arabic word, so first of all it means nothing except for people who live east of the indus river. Secondly, today, Hindu means someone who eats meat, parties, and drinks lots of alcohol, most are ignorant of religion or even atheist. The Hare Krishna devotees follow the true path of the Bhagavad Gita, which is the cream of all the Vedas

  • Amit you have said some wise things on youtube, but this is not one of them.

I am a Hindu and I do not fit your description. Respectfully the Hare Krishnas are not following the entire Bhagavad Gita.

"Those who see Me see Me everywhere"

Lord Krishna resides in Durga Ma and in Shiv Shankar. He is Hanuman as well as Ram. He is Vishnu & Brahma.

Some people who call themselves Hindus do fit your description but please do not insult me, one of Shri Krishna's devotees. I never insulted you.

  • thank you for clearing that up... all the ignorant comments and constant use of the word "hindu" is pretty enranging to me. people need to educate themselves on vedic

    culture

  • You have no idea what I'm talking about. I have met Hare Krishnas and know exactly what I am talking about; it is from personal experience. These people proselytize and involve themselves in jingoistic "discussions" with those of other paths. Their claim is that Krishna is Supreme and there is no fallacy in that statement! This is simply christianity/islam in disguise; of course, most Hare Krishnas are these idiotic westerners who are untouchables themselves so they are deluded.

  • I agree

  • Dharma Vijaya!

I love how Kumarila defeated Dharmapala in dialectics and established the supremacy of the Vedic tradition over the nihilistic nothingness of the Buddhists. Great clip.

All glories to Sripada Shankaracharya, the great incarnation of Shiva and devotee of Sri Govinda and Laksmi-Nrsimha. May Vedanta in the lineage of Veda Vyas and the Vaishnavadualism of Madhavacarya be ever victorious.

  • I loved this part where Kumarila Bhatta explains how saying the 'if' word caused him a small eye injury. This story is so perfectly true to the account spoken by Kanchi Shankaracharya Swamigal. Jaya Jaya Shankara. Hara Hara Shankara. Bharat Ki Jai! Veda Ki Jai!

  • Thanks so much for sharing. Our great country has had such wonderful and noble souls. Long live the tradition of the Veda.

  • Wah! Very nice.

Jai Hind! Jai Sanaatan Dharm! Jai Vaidik Dharm!
