I used to attend a concert called HFestival, it was a huge thing in the Northern Virginia area, and one of the few venues that rented out RFK (Old Redskins stadium) and played about 60 bands.....my point is that I so, so wished that MGB came there and opened to this Arena Rock song, or Giant, which would work. But, alas it was never meant to be.
It's too bad most Americans aren't familiar with Matthew Good. I was fortunate enough to get a BC radio station growing up in Sequim, Washington. I heard Load Me Up and Fireworks by the Tragically Hip and began actively searching for other Canadian rock; Knucklehead is a decent punk band from your parts (and of course DOA). Thanks for the music, you flannel clad lumberjacks! (meant as a friendly tease, I really do like Canada).
Dude I was the same way. I found Much Music on channel 13 in Virginia, (A channel unheard of in these parts) and Matthew Good was my inspiration to know that good rock is out there.
@FatAlbert969 haha thats actually the first thing I thought when I heard this song, buut I cant stand U2, fuck Bono.. Matt good is where its at, If you ever get a chance to see him doo it, worth every penny.
I had a friend who was completely obsessed with MGB. he literally worshipped Matthew Good and couldn't go a day without hearing something about him in the news
Best track on the album, with Truffle Pigs and Tripoli coming in close behind. I miss the MGB days, they were much better than the solo stuff. The new album Vancouver has a very distinct Beautiful Midnight/Audio of Being feel to it though which is awesome!
I bought this album in 2001, and maybe it was because i was too jacked up on meth back then but it still spoke to me in volumes, still does to this day, oh and the meth was just a stage, im good now, lol!
I'm not sure that it's their most even disc - I'm really only taken by about half of it - but this song is probably one of the most assured and effective song by MGB. It's easily on par with classics like "Start Me Up," "Everything is Automatic," and "Symbolistic White Walls."
Yeah the whole album really had a theme to it, like MGB were heading into a new millenium with greater broader ideas, this is my favorite album by MGB, i owned this disc and it got worn out and lost, i am buying this album again for sure!
Amazing tune on an undervalued disc.. Even matt states this as his least favorite.. Perhaps its cause of the turmoil of that year but to me the songs come off here with far more power then beautful midnight, stronger guitar solos and addition of some electronica makes this album a must listen .. Great album , great artist..
Agree Very Much! Bought This First Day It Came Out And It Blew Me Away. Its Up There With Midnight And Underdogs For Sure! A Must Listen For Any Matthew Good Band Fan.

Audio of Being is not an under-rated album. It is quite simply the best album made under the MGB brand. True story.

Under-rated album. And to think he wrote this while practically have a massive nervous breakdown throughout. Very impressive.

@Mineav I know that Matt Good himself wasn't particularly impressed with it, but came to eventually realize that most of it is actually quite good.

One of my favorite MG lines ever is: Your forgiveness ain't a neighborhood that I'm looking to live in.

Matthew Good Band went out with a hell of a bang with Audio of Being.
I doubt we'll see Matt Good start the band back up, since he's a moody dude plus he has a decent solo career.

The intro and start of this song has always reminded me of U2's Where The Streets Have No Name. Anyone else hear it?

I agree that this album is much better than it's given credit for. After Avalanche and Beautiful Midnight, it's my favorite.
I see that 'Vancouver' has some string instruments like Avalanche did so I'm hoping we hear some more powerful songs.
