  • Yes, I was and still am a huge dcTalk fan. I have always like Tait, he has been blessed with 3 octave range and an ear for music. As far as him singing with NB...let's just say I'm not used to it yet.

  • yeah i hear that i waz furious wen i heard the news and i think i commented wen i waz still that way lol

but im better about the situation :)

  • I was the same way! It was really confusing, especially since the band didn't answer a lot of questions right away. But I think a lot of people are getting over it. Don't you think?

  • yeah i know... the only thing im kinda irritated about is how they're playin Jesus Freak... but ill get over it haha

oh yeah i think it has totally simmered down a lot :)

  • Well said . Remember when John left years ago, it was much the same. Fans were scratching their heads. Peter leaving was a huge blow. i have opinions that i will keep to myself. I do wish Tait the best and i believe he truly loves the Lord.

  • Yea I think some fans are still scratching their heads over this one. It is really sad to think that "In The Hands of God" will be Peter's last album singing lead vocals... maybe that fact alone will make the album a huge success, who knows? Were you a Tait fan back in the dcTalk days?

  • Bono taken out of U2 was my analogy

  • Actually, it was what a lot of Newsboys boardies were saying on the night we found out about Peter leaving...

  • This vid was really encouraging, thanks for putting it on. I miss Peter terribly, and I know that's kinda strange, but I really do. I hope he's going to do some solo stuff or something.

It would have helped if they had handled the whole thing better. I mean, Tait randomly preforming, and then the announcement that Pete was done a week later. And then FOREVER later, a message from Pete. I thought it was really disorganized and hurtful for those long time fans.

But thats just how I feel. :)

  • I miss Peter, too. It's going to take a long time to get used to Tait singing Peter's songs. I agree that it was all handled pretty bad. Did you pre-order the new album? Would you want to hear Tait sing those songs?

  • Im planning on buying the new CD when it comes out.

I did go see Tait with Newsboys in concert, and Tait did an excellent job. However, it definatly wasnt a Newsboys concert. It was a "Tait singin the Newsboys" concert. He hinted at possibly making his own album with the boys later, but until then I dont think any Newsboys songs will sound the same with his vocals.

  • That's pretty much exactly how I felt. First I was shocked and kinda mad, but I think when Peter put out his letter, I seemed to be ok with me. Haven't seen them live with him yet, but I've heard he's great.

  • Do you plan on getting the new album? What do you think about Michael Tait? Are you a dcTalk fan?

  • I actually pre-ordered the new album about a month ago, and Im counting down the days until it comes.

They haven't come to my area since last November, so I haven't seen Tait yet. I saw him with them on the Thrive concert DVD , and he was great. I've heard he's incredibly charismatic, and a great choice for a new leader.

I never really got the chance to be a dcTalk fan, seeing as though I was 6 when they ended. I am a fan of TobyMac, and I love alot of dcTalk songs, like Jesus Freak.

  • this it's bit old news

  • any new vblogs comming soon?

  • yep! hang tight!
