Love the movie(That's how I discovered John Woo) and I love this theme, it's awesome.
John Travolta is just sooo damn cool as Deekins, no doubt. The ONLY thing(as a John Woo-fan)missing is Woo's trademark pidgeons(Al though he deserves credit due to the location - they would have seemed out of place. Maybe he has hidden one as an easter egg and I've missed it - gotta check that out:)
And yes, it's also in Scream two - When Dewey and Gale meet if I'm not mistaking.
"Broken Arrow" is one of my guilty pleasures, and Zimmer's music is a large part of it... That's Duane Eddy ("King of the Twang Guitar") playing a baritone axe on the main theme. Lovely! Thanks for mixing and posting this mash of the intro and outro!
I love this movie and this theme. I can listen to it for hours. it just has that certain...feel to it. travolta plays a great character in this movie and it's refreshing to see him in something other than a good guy role.
This movie was great idd, John Travolta was perfect for the role, but i think that Slater his acting wasn't really good, he never was really good at it in any movie.
I don't see why some of you think this movie sucks, I thought it was really good. I love the music, especially the song they play during the last 30 seconds.. the epic one where it sounds like disaster is coming.
@PharaohHazard similar would be an understatement. it is in fact the same. both were made by fox. fox owns the broken arrow soundtrack, so they decided to use it to fill a musical cue in scream 2 (i'm guessing 'cause the editor used it as a temp track before the composer got his hands on the edit and the director liked it too much or the composer ran out of time to score that cue so they just left what they had).
0:00-2:09 plays in my head when im in the act of doing something sneaky and bad. 2:10-5:32 plays in my head as im walking away looking back when i get away with it. 5:33-6:07 "the finale" its optional, depending on my mood if i want to be an asshole and expose to the other person the extent of damage of what ive done!! hahahaha!!!
The music was great but the movie SUCKED, Travolta became a one note character later on in his career. His performance in that crapfest Pelham 1 2 3 was identical to this one. His performance brought the whole movie down.
I LOVE the part at 0:32. It will forever remind my of nuclear warheads lol.. don't know why but something about the music just fits.. it is powerful, and yet a little.. twisted at the same time
@svraja73 No. You're mistaken. You must be thinking of MI:2. I've seen the movie 100 times. Just saw it again. There are no doves or birds in the mine scene. There's a deer and butterfly after the nuke. No birds. Why would doves exist in a cave, in the desert?
ive seen my share of woo films (both american and hkbo) and broken arrow is the only one i remember to not have doves which is a woo signature. but it does have reflections, a reference to st. judes hospital, and akimbo which are other woo signatures. i havent seen windtalkers or paycheck in about 6 years so i will have to check those.
Hans Zimmer called legendary guitarist Duane Eddy to ask if he would play on this track, as he wanted "the real thing". A wonderful collaboration, I think. Beautiful theme.
hans zimmer has made a lot of great themes. this one stands out to me. it definetly gives the movie a great feel. that is why i love broken arrow. the theme to face off doesn't even compare to this.
@SearchingYT IDK why people don't like the movie. Broken Arrow is a GREAT film. In fact, it's a character piece! It's purely character driven, and Travolta is the coolest he's ever been in any movie - ever! It's so super-charged, and I love it for that!

Isn't this, at least towards the end, very similar to a track in Scream 2?
