Through the use of a simple question and answer format this video powerfully portrays one father's grief in the aftermath of Katrina. The vast majority of individuals in the United States have not experienced the tragedy and catastrophe of Katrina and most of us have forgotten, but for individuals in and around New Orleans the reality of Katrina is forever unforgettable. The poignant performance of Tanoos is captivating. You will not forget this video.
This is an excellent video on Hurricane Katrina as told through the eyes of a grieving husband who lost his wife. The story is real and the emotion compelling, leaving viewers with a greater understanding of the immense loss experienced by survivors of Katrina. Shot against a simple, stark background, it's hard not to be moved by the words of the grieving husband, especially as he remembers the day he lost his wife, and how she lives on through their surviving daughter.
This work helps to develop empathy resulting from attempting to walk a mile in the shoes of the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The experience can not be replicated, but such an endevor may, at a minimum, impact the lives of the actor and director and mobilize them to be activists in the recovery effort.
