  • When my 6 year old brother saw this, he just about damn near lost his mind.

Looks like we're going to Cars Land! :D

  • I'm pissed that Finn McMissile won't be in this. :(

  • The Cars movies really do suck, but I like the idea for a Cars ride, you know? I mean, a Ratatouille ride doesn't sound as exciting.

I really like the re-theming of California Adventure. The original idea for DCA was a park geared more for adults that didn't have Mickey's on every corner, but at the end of the day, kids are the reason that people go to theme parks. At the end of the day, I think people want a Disneyland part 2 instead of an adult theme park or even a thrill park like six flags.

  • @mountainwalrus100 Well no, that's the main reason why they've decided to renovate the park. The predominant reason was because the park was redundant. I mean, think about it. A theme park in California based on other attractions that are in...California. It really is redundant. Overall, as an Annual Passholder, I'm glad they've decided to give the park a spark of new life. It's refreshing, and watching the park transform over time is interesting.

  • I went there 3 weeks ago. The place looked small from being close to it. I thought it would've been the size of a REAL Mountain.

  • The end was retarded. I really wanted to see what rsr would look like.

  • They didn't want to show anyone how it will look like, otherwise it would've been SPOILED!!

  • @coastermaniac16 well the rides not done yet, so they showed u what they are planning it to look like.

  • My son and I are in love with the movie Cars... and he is going to be extatic about this ride!!!! thanks much!!

  • 4 people have never been to disney

  • Unlike a few people who complain, I'm glad their adding this section and re-theming the park. As for the Bambi land idea, I like but it seems more fitting as the would be "North America" section at DAK(Animal Kingdom) than a section at one of the California parks.

  • I wasnt super impressed with this movie either, but at least there will be some actual theming in DCA now, the whole park so far just looks way too plain.

  • i think the reason they are building a carsland instead of a toy story land or something like that is because the movie takes place in california and the whole theme of the park is california, so cars does seem to fit where as finding nemo was in australia, up was in south america, idk where toy story was but so on and so forth. Cars was really pixars only film that made it clear that it was in california

  • Why the hell would they make a CarsLand. This is ridiculous. It's their worst rated movie, their LOWEST GROSSING... I can't even begin to tell my loathing for this. Give a 'Land to a movie that really deserved it--like Toy Story or Monsters, Inc. or Finding Nemo. You know, the ones that actually HAVE great stories to them.

  • @TheSqueakyPickles Toy Story was the only pixar film, besides antz and a bugs life ( im sure they were pixar) that had decent storyies (to story being a good story). Plus this is like a better version of test track, its themed, and u race another car.

  • i dont like this idea they have took a realy great ride like the flying sausers and turned it into something weird. i dont like this park

  • i dont like it how there taking a great ride like the flying sausers and turning it into something weird. the park dosent have many atractions in it either

  • What's so exciting about driving in a car? Isn't that what people are trying to avoid after being in traffic all day? This idea seems very uncreative and uninspiring, they simply copied a movie and another attraction ride system and branded it as something new. Whatever happened to the Disney I grew up with that was always pushing the limits on creativity and imagination, creating things we have never seen? I guess attractions on the level of Pirates and Haunted Mansion truly are extinct breeds.

  • @equilibrium1736

"copied...another attraction ride system and branded it as something new."

That is exactly what they did with Haunted Mansion. They copied the same ride system from Adventures Through Inner Space.

It is also a fact that movie inspired attractions were made in Walt time as well. Like The Swiss family Treehouse.

Lets keep this as civil as possible.

You may not like this idea, you may not like Cars, you may not like Pixar, but this land will be popular, just wait and see.

  • @equilibrium1736 idiot its like test track

  • Any of you posting with children under the ages of 8 would understand how huge the cars franchise is to Disney. The opening the park is going to be a major success. Not to mention that a new Cars movie is opening next summer. This will be a must visit for any family with kids. As for the quality of the Cars movie, it is a great piece of film making, I have had to watch it about 1000 times with my kids and unlike almost any other movie, it doesn't make me want to shoot my self in the head.

  • @didimydoe3 Yeah, but what could they do with movies like Up, Wall E or Fantasia? One that I think would work would be The Incredibles.

  • @jayrobson88 Because if they built a land on Star Wars all the proceeds will go to George Lucas and not them ;). And uh, you DO realize they ARE building an epic E-ticket in this land right? Radiator Springs will be one of their biggest E tickets ride ever and one of the costliest at around $300 million. And yes, thats ONLY for the ride ;). So you will have an epic E ticket dont worry about that.

  • @jayrobson88 LOL I'm only defending it because I think its going to be a great addition and I can't wait for it!! :) Never seen the movie btw ;). But will one day before this opens.

And DCA itself was a bad idea lol. At least now it will have some cool new additions and rides! ;)

  • @MovieMaker1217 The company makes around $2 billion a year worldwide from the Cars merchandise alone. Believe me, its THAT sucessful ;).

  • whoa if thats the foo names, then i can't wait to have a CONEDOG or better yet a CUB SANDWHICH

  • at the confy cone they should sell ice cream cone, snow cones or whatever.

  • @theaznfishy You are such an ass. Cars is one of the best Pixar movies (Toy Story is the best one) and if you stll think that Cars is their worst movie, then you can jump off a bridge and drown.

  • @thepascalhouston Don't insult the fact that the Disneyland resort is smaller that the WDW resort. What would you expect from the limited space that the old Disneyland parking lot had to offer?

  • @ThePirateprincess23 whoa i didint say smaller wat i meant is that wdw have 4 time more contend and i dont remember why i said this in the first place....lol

  • *sigh* I love this stuff so much...

  • opening 2012!

  • im upset cause this looks soo cool but we go to wdw not dl so we will miss out :(

  • Chili what?

  • i go to disneyland and dca every year cause i live in cali, but the concept art for the entrance to dca is sort of like a replica of disneys hollywood studios in florida (the entrances are going to be exactly the same) i dont like that!

  • @brohymmdave

It makes sense for DCA though, because the new entrance is modeled after the architecture from California's Pan Pacific Auditorium. :-)

  • Why do they show this at a D23 convention? They should show it at a shareholders meeting.

  • wait, im confused. can someone give me a like list of all the updates they are doing to disneyland? they're doing a bambi land?? that would be so cool, they have done nothing with that in their parks, and it's one of their bests!

  • @SingerGirlCMP In California Adventure (Disneyland's second park) the additions, which started 2007 are Toy Story Midway Mania Little Mermaid ride Silly Symphony Swings Goofy's Sky School Car's Land (includes Radiator Springs Racers, Luigis Roamin Tires and another Mater themed ride) retheming the entrance to be Hollywood New trolleys that will take you around World of Color light/water/fire show Toy Story live musical show new restaurants, and more. It's a huge multi-year addition
  • @clockworkfiction3 And it'll be one to remember! :D

  • @clockworkfiction3 just a slight correction, the new entrance is Buena Vista Street and will be 1920s Los Angeles. Hollywood Pictures Backlot will become early Hollywood. =)

  • @clockworkfiction3 And I work at DCA, I'm REALLY excited to see all the new stuff!

  • @LarryB1984

I've had a premium pass to Disneyland for the past four years, so I too am excited. It's really interesting just going on the ferris wheel and looking at the construction.

  • OMG. THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME.

  • I was hoping for Ice Cream cones.

  • @jcoch1r--

I've heard that they may have those as well. :-)

  • the lost saucer has been recovered, and uses test track technology.

  • @deathcat57

And every once in awhile, a gun shot will ring out.

  • @deathcat57 But they already have Golden State which is themed to a Californian national forest. They could however include bambi by adding a dark ride in place of the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.

  • im so glad they are finally paying some attention to california. i was almost jealous about expedition everest because that ride was amazing all around and rockin roller coaster, and epcot for sure. disneylands make over is gonna be so great. i think the theming is going to work really well.

  • Interesting. They may bring back the hovercar bumper cars.... :O

  • oh my god cars land rocks!!!! I LOVEEEE what they are doing to DCA and Disneyland. I am so gonna visit once all the new lands are done.

  • wow soooo cool!

  • If the attraction is anything like the models presented at D23 and the previsualization clip seen here, it will be money well spent!
