@gumaster1000 If cutting steel, the smoke particles are the danger... P3 mask would do the trick.. I'd be more worried about the reflected light energy.. 150W total power wouldn't reflect too much, but still I'd wear safety glasses for the CO2 wavelength or just not look at the beam!

100W will cut 1mm mild steel and .5mm stainless steel. Although, we generally offer the 150W as our entry level metal cutting machine.

In a job I had long, long ago I had to replace the lasing cavity of a 150W CO2 laser. Someone had forgotten to turn on the cooling system and the cavity destroyed itself. Not a hard job to do.
