I got a pair of these second hand mint condition. Here's my two cents:
Effects: The only 2 that sound good are phase and filter. The others sound TERRIBLE in most tracks.
The pitch feels inaccurate compared to my very cheap vinyl turntables and has a lot of play. The cue button on one is already failing so I have to press hard for it to register.
One deck has trouble ejecting memorex cds.
Loops and cues and pitch lock are the only really great things...
good question and i'd be interested to know what others think. personally i have always preferred a really good analogue filter and eq. like those on the A&H xones. Having some extra fx are a nice thing though as long as they are used in moderation and to suit the track
It's wierd they keep coming out with new models and yet they seem to the same effects as the 304 I have, they work ok no problems to compain, I have had them for three years and only one failed me, but it cost me $100 close out at Guitar Center, but it lasted for a couple of years.
J. These decks have a SERIOUS failure rate. I had two of the earlier models, and finally got rid of them after numerous problems. I started a thread on them at djforums, and to this day, I get atleast one email a week asking if I know how to fix them. Investigated the new deck, and they use the same tact switches they did on the C.314 apparently, and people are having the exact same problems with these C.324. Nice decks when they work, but in 6 months, you'll likely be out $400.
I really hate to say that all, because when they work, they ARE really nice, and they are the only real budget deck with a full sized CDJ style platter, and I love the feel of this deck... but when they break, and Stanton fixes them only to have them broken again 2 weeks to 2 months later.... well...
One last thing though... The American Audio Radius 1000 has all the same effects, features, and controls as this deck, plus midi control.... only thing you loose is the very large platter, but you gain dependability. Wish there was a Radius deck with a full sized CDJ style platter.... or alternatively, I wish Stanton would step up to the plate and make this deck dependable.
does it have a bpm counter ?

The C324 has a new DSP chip for the fx and scratch over 304 and 314. You can also use up to three effects simultaneously on the C324

Correction: I should say, the only real budget deck (that I know of) in the US with a full sized CDJ style platter...
