Great info.& demo! I switched barrels on a .32Auto to .22Mag (had to change firing pin to rimfire) and a .22LR to .22Mag as the .22Mag is more accurate with more speed, and has similar impact in clay blocks to .38Spc! Right now, you can change barrels without paperwork in most states. I wonder if one can obtain longer barrels, as a 4" might be nice, or even 6"? Thanks!
thanks for the info.. to think i was going after a high end bonds arms .. but this gun will do for the in town trips.. were my .. 45 colt is too large for concealed carry
I carry mine because it is convenient. Got a guy to make a pocket holster for it too, looks and carries great! It is VERY comfortable to carry, more so than any other gun I've tried pocket carrying. Sure you got two shots, better than no shots if ya ask me.
THENAGANTMAN,My question is if you already have a Cobra and you want to get other barrels do you still have to have them sent to a dealer and wait for back ground check or do they just send them to your house,if they send it straight to you that would be so cool a no wait new gun except for shipping wait that is.
Current prices are $50 + S&H for standard Big Bore barrels, but some colors cost extra. I suspect (but do not know for certain) that the Long Bore barrels will also fit on the Big Bore frame.
Can you put a rim fire type barrel on a cobra that had an original center fire barrel? And can you put a center fire type barrel on a cobra that had an original rim fire barrel?
You have high praise for the Cobra quality but how would you compare Cobra to the Bond Arms line of derringers? Bond Arms guns look mighty impressive but they are considerably more expensive than Cobras. I have 4 North Amer Arms models and am waiting for delivery of the Bond Arms Snake Slayer next week but I might consider adding some Cobras' to my collection.
cobra owns bond arms, but the derringers do differ by they're names and cobra tends 2 use slightly cheaper metals ($130 for a 38.) im bout to buy a cobra arms derringer 38 with a titan(45/410) barrel (the titan runs $380) and im gunna get a fs or ca model pistol (38.) from them as well
this gun is a really good pack gun if ur hiking i have the 38. ut also you can shoot the 357 out of it too and shot shells work pretty good out of it too could e used for a survival gun iv taken rabbits and birds with the igger round if needed you can take bigger game and is accruate if practiced with week of shooting taking targets at 50 yards no problem.
As far as always goes bang, yes. If you're wanting a derringer to shoot the crap out of you would probably be better off with a Bond Arms or American Derringer. Nonetheless they're a really good gun for the money. Lifetime warranty too. I have one in .22 and love it.
You say there are better choices for concealed carry. I'm trying to work within my states limits. Looking for very small revolver to ward off coyotes.
How are they reliability wise, I'm looking to pick one up just for a backup and like the 38 for hiking so I can load it with snake shot, theirs not many reviews out there so I'm kinda torn
Yes, very good choice for use with snake shot. The rifling in them is kind of thin so the shot won't go all over the place. Mechanically they're pretty durable.

9mm & .38 Super would kick like Hell! I had one in .32 Auto & the recoil wasn't uncomfortable, but I'd say that it was max recoil for that gun.

COOL!
Derringers are my new favorite, but what about frame size?
Are they all the same?
dawnninjawolf 1 year ago
The derringer shown is the large frame. The small frame comes in .22, .25, and .32 ACP and is TINY. I have two of them and they're alot of fun!!
