I think English dub was good for kids. And once we grew up we found out there was so much more to many of the stories. It's nice to be able to rewatch your old favorites and be able to take away something entirely new from them

actually, diC cut a lot of the stuff in the original japanese cartoon because it was graphic and darker than the target audience could handle. But I still love the English anyway :)

The worst attack in the entire series. I'm sorry, but her movements don't seem to have any rhythm at all like every other attack in Sailor Moon. I mean, am I the only one who felt that way?

@ConnorElzaim The anime was actually pretty distant from the story in the manga. When DiC dubbed the anime and rewrote/added dialogue and cut out scenes from the Japanese version, they actually distanced it even farther from the manga. So in a sense, watching the DiC dub is probably the farthest you will get from the manga.

I have seen all the series in Japanese.. and I agree with you - the Japanese voiceactor is terrific.. but my comment on here wasn't comparing the Japanese voiceactor to the English dub ..

Both Tracey More and terri Hawkes were great and would be ok with either of them voicing for Sailor Moon. Linda Ballantyne was a horrrrible voice actress and should have never dubbed seasons 3 and 4. Or atleast her voice doesn't match sailor moon's. I don't know how good of a voice actress she is outside of being sailor moon.

Terri Hawkes was the best Sailor Moon voice actor (dubbed). Her voice matches the character very well.

I cant stand Linda Ballantyne though .. she's the voice actor for Sailor Moon S and SuperS .. and it's awful.

you know,that's true of course.But,isn't it odd that she almost always said moon tiara magic right?If I remember right,the only time she didn't was on episode 4 of the english dub and instead she said "Moon Tiara Activation":P

The Japanese version of Sailor Moon is a lot more violent, sexual-innuendo and same-sex relationships, so naturally it's more well received. Heck, production companies aren't allowed to dub the final series of Sailor Moon because of three boys who transform into girls in skimpy tight leather underwear with knee-high boots! XD

Having said that, the DiC version of Sailor Moon has pretty good English voice actors.

I never liked that they used the same music for the moon scepter that they did with the tiara attack. :(

I've watched the entire japanese series with subtitles and I prefer this music to the japanese music. It brings back so many memories.

I agree! The music is way much better in the english version. And I also prefer when they cast their attacks in english. So hard for the ears in japanese @_@ And I don't like japaneses' english prononciation (no offense). Why did they had to cut so many part in english? That's the only reason I'm watching it in jap T_T

Actually it SHOULD be 'MOON Tiara Magic' since the transformation is entitled 'MOON Crystal Power' even though the only time THAT music was ever used in its entirety and unmodified was during Moon Prism Power.

the reason y the r movie was moon princess elimtaion was because pinorrer did not care about anything they just dubed it and kept everything except some parts of the dialouge to make it kid freinfly

Say what you will about DiC, but the dub music was pretty easy on the ears. Namely the henshin and attack theme.

Personally I like the dubbed music for her attacks better. The original music sounds too cheesy to me. The dubbed music kind of adds more pomp to her attacks.

Yes I'm serious. The Japanese music sounds to corny and the dubbed background music reflects Sailor Moon more then the original music exeptht in the last arc (The Sailor Stars arc) where the music actually plays a large part of the plot of that arc. I agree that it sucks that Sailor Moon is edited like it is(Especially with the relationship between Uranus and Neptune) But still I prefer the DIC BGM.

No the English cut out loads of stuff like Haruka and Michiru being in love and it changed all the names to silly things and just basically butchered it into a show for five year olds.
