  • Thanks for linking to my site!

  • cool great!

  • That was sexy.

  • @DrmrGuy1979 I think one has, actually.

  • Hey, how do did you add reverb? Did you add it through kontakt player or was it another program?

  • @ARZiehm It's been a while, but I believe since it's Finale I think I added it through Kontakt player.

  • @ARZiehm u can add reverb with finale

  • @piggemz Yeah, I figured it out. I used kontakt player.

And I use Sibelius lol, so I wouldn't know.

  • Does anybody know how to get the finale 2009 template to work with Virtual drumline 2.5?

  • @drummergirl78155 I'm unsure about Finale now -- it's been about two years since I've used it. However, if you have purchased VDL 2.5 from the Tapspace website the Read Me manual in the disc case would explain how to integrate it with Finale.

  • I have the finale 2010 demo and the freaking flams are so open it makes everything sound dirty

  • @deamon506 Unlike Sibelius, Finale allows you to change the EDU duration of grace notes:

    1. Document -> Document Options

    2. Grace Notes -> Playback Duration

    3. Preferably 32 - 48 EDUs

  • @leemcd56 You can do that in sibelius. Its actually easier in sibelius.

  • @budwayz Yes, I am aware. I was specifying that in Sibelius you can't change the duration of grace notes in EDUs. In Sibelius all you really need to do is make the grace note closer to the primary note.

  • @leemcd56 hmm. wait. so you can make the grace note "longer" in finale, but not more closed so that it sounds like a decent flam?

  • @budwayz If you're looking for a more open "to-day" flam you would do the opposite of the steps I mentioned to deamon506.

  • I've uploaded a rewritten version of this piece if you're interested in checking it out. :)

  • Hey man I'm Joel McAda. I'm really humbled that you liked my lot jam enough to put it up here on YouTube. Thanks for the publicity!

  • @SnareKidJoel No problem man! I was thinking about retranscribing it in Sibelius now that I have VDL 2.5.2 but now that you have a YouTube channel I'll leave that up to you :)

  • @leemcd56 Haha thanks dude. And I'm glad to hear you are using Sibelius now. Sibelius > Finale by a long shot. :]

  • @SnareKidJoel Agreed! The only issue I have is Tapspace's new 2.5.2 template. The design sucks compared to the 2.5 template.

  • @leemcd56 What exactly do you not like about it?

  • @SnareKidJoel Well the template seems to be really touchy about staff spacing--which has been extended in this version--and how resizing the staff will affect neighboring text. It has a bad habit of pushing my title and "Nathananael McDaniel" text out of the way or off of the page when upsizing.

  • @leemcd56 That sounds like Magnetic Layout coming into play. Also, if you go to Layout > Optimize Staff Spacing, that might clean things up a bit for you.

  • @SnareKidJoel I know that :P I have Magnetic Layout always on, but it's because they built the template from the ground up (not using their previous template, which would have been more wise) that causes me problems.

  • @SnareKidJoel Ahh sorry, it always sounds pretentious when someone explains something that you already know haha. I have the 2.5.1 template and didn't even know there was a 2.5.2, but after hearing how much trouble it's been giving you I think I'll just stick with the one I have haha.

  • I've been having the same problem but i haven't found out any solution either. And how do get the snare stickings, such as the Rh and Lh?

  • @drumspeed2 To write stickings, just use the Lyric Tool. :)

  • OHIO FTW!!! haha sounds great

  • I haven't, but I've heard that problem before. Sometimes it's with the MIDI value being wrong, sometimes it's with the .sound file missing, and sometimes the VDL configuration file has been tampered with.

  • hey, how do you get your vdl lite so loud? I have finale 2009 as well, i love writing with it, but its very very quiet, did you have this problem too? if so, how did you get the vdl samples louder?

  • Under the Window menu there's a mixer that you can up the volume for the individual instruments. Also, on the VST settings up the Dry value and lower the Wet value for Garritan Instruments.

  • Comment removed

  • thanks for the help, the mixer helped quite a bit, but wheres the vst settings and have you had trouble with the tenor drums drum 4 not playing?

  • lol true. But did you actually buy the Virtual Drumline program?

  • It comes with VDLite =]

  • Any chance you have an Mp3 of this you could email me?

  • Of course! Gimme your email

  • Dude I love this, its bitchin'! I just got Finale 2009, and I'm trying to get VDL 2. but awesome- I'd buy this cadence.

  • looks like star wars sand people theme

  • mmm i love the sound of drums.
