Your right it won't destroy Earth but it will devastate every single country and kill billions, perhaps around 40% of the world's population from the impact, earthquakes, tsunamis, and radiation fallout. It's not gonna hit though, we would easily be able to deflect it by 2182. If anything you should be worried about Apophis in 2029.

Remmember, things don't just go into thin air! what will happen is the astroid will go into shards, like if u smash glass that kinda thing, some of these shards wont hit earth but some will. When he said nudge it out of the way that could work but would be very hard.
