Dang,bad Mortal Kombat knock-off. To be fair,a MK knock-off is bad almost by definition,even if it's better than MK - and this looks like it might be. Graphics are nice enough,and the life bar is a cute touch.

I've never understood the appeal of childish gore,though(and I probably should be thankful for that). And bad controls kill a fighting game IMO.

The developers (Hand Made Software) didn't go very much beyond their Lynx base engine that was used in Battlezone 2000, only slight improvements to handle the high-color decals used in Kasumi Ninja. It was buggy at first, but was fixed in the final release. In all the engine felt like it was borrowed from a Lynx system game.

It was made a little more interesting with filling it with enough of a cast that took up the rest of the allotted space. Not very much creativity put into this game.

Holy crap, that announcer's voice is such an stereotype it is laughable and the menu interface and presentation of the game itself is bland and horrid. Did they even had art team working on this?

Yeah, but come on... how many fighting games out there right now pulled features from Mortal Kombat... probably ALL of them.

Basically everything out there is a clone of Street Fighter & Virtua Fighter anyway, so who really cares.

Sorry to say that but I love this game! Was one of the first games I bought for the Jag, and in my oppinion the controls were pretty good once you got used to them. Just holding down the C-Button and perform specific directions with the D-Pad. Even SF2 Soecials aren´t that easy to perform! I remember figuring out most of the fatalities by myself. Haven´t played it for years but still remember how to pull off some of the fatalities, if anyone wants to know - PM me! KN ROCKS!

I used to play this game all the time! It was probably my favorite Atari Jaguar game, apart from Wolfenstein 3D.

I could just be me but I had no trouble mastering the controls on this one. I don't know why the game media slammed this game. It's not bad at all. It's just as fun as Mortal Kombat except with more blood and better graphics. The finishing moves are hilarious and that announcer is even more comical. It's a very underrated game that doesen't deserve all the criticism. What 16-bit system could make graphics like that? The only thing I didn't like was the music. Thanks for the vid.
