@DrinkSkateSleep A French speaker learning English or vice versa isn't that difficult no. But for a Slavic speaker (Russian, Polish, Czech, etc.), learning English is a lot harder and vice versa. The rules of grammar are different because in the slavic language you get into different cases for different situations (accusative, nominative, etc.) So I would give him some more lee way.

You might be able to say a couple sentences but you're still going to have an accent and you wont be able to understand every word they say. I know whats up. I have three language classes (spanish, chinese, and german) and all of my teachers say even they cant speak fluently. So whats up BIG SAUCE.

Out of the 4 languages I've learned, English was by far the easiest... so there you go. Try learning Chinese, Japanese, Basque, even I hear everywhere that Spanish is really hard to learn. But as many people say, being a native speaker doesn't let you know if it is easy or not to learn.

Well as a finnish person i'd say english is THE easiest language to learn since you hear it all around you on tv, radio and whatever, so i don't agree on english being hard to learn.
On the other hand for russians its quite different cos russian is so much different by its core structure than english.

I feel bad for him... I dont get why they do interviews with him when clearly its not happening. Maybe just to help him gradually learn? Usually his interviews are pretty hilarious but this ones just tough to watch.

Normally he has Gonchar there with him to be his interperator. That's awesome to have Gonchar on the Penguins because he's not only a great player but also a great friend for Malkin to talk to.

Man, that's GOT to be frustrating....tryin to speak English and wanting so much to respond to the questions and having your thoughts get stuck like that.
He's a really good sport and very gutsy to keep facing the cameras after every game like that....If I had to do interviews in RUSSIAN before every game, I'd lose my friggin' mind!!!

"Sid played good"
And "We try hard" and just mix it up a little and your pretty much set.

Geno is the fucking man. 78 assists last year, 113 points, an Art Ross Trophy and a Conn Smythe Trophy. If you watch him handing out season tickets last year and compare it to this year's outing his English has really improved.

Out of the 4 languages I've learned, English was by far the easiest... so there you go. Try learning Chinese, Japanese, Basque, even I hear everywhere that Spanish is really hard to learn. But as many people say, being a native speaker doesn't let you know if it is easy or not to learn.

No.. I wasn't born speaking any language. But I did learn spanish as my native tongue ;) And as i said earlier.. English is by far the easiest language to I've learned (compared to french, japanese, german and yes.. even my native tongue: spanish)

Well as a finnish person i'd say english is THE easiest language to learn since you hear it all around you on tv, radio and whatever, so i don't agree on english being hard to learn.
On the other hand for russians its quite different cos russian is so much different by its core structure than english.
But bare in mind that "8 the great" didn't know any english when he came in the NHL, but he took a room with an american guy and now he can handle himself in interviews. Malkin had Gonchar

Sorry it was a typo. See if you would have read all the comments you would have noticed that we were talking about Malkin, not the pens. And yes they propably wont remember who won the scoring title, but the MVP awards is highly appreciated. And people, me atleast, like to look individual stats more than just "who won the stanley cup" "ok, lets move on to some other sport"
