  • @NONOo376 as long as it has a basking/land area and a proper heat lamp how is it "too much water"? it's an aquatic turtle. they are naturally found in ponds which are way bigger than that tank

  • thats a peninsula cooter not a yellow belly slider,a lot of people get confused with them but there is a slite diference a peninsula cooter has more black than yellow and bolder and blacker markings or stripes unlike the yellow belly slider that has more yellow than black and has thin markings or stripes,i hope this information helped

  • I love to see when people give these animals the right home, and not half ass everything.

  • dude my turtles would eat your turtle. and then probably eat the fish for seconds

  • i have a yellow bellied and is it okay for it's belly to be a little orange?

  • that is way too deep of a water level . : (

  • "Nice Turtle! Chek mine !!!!!"

  • turtles love water, well mine does, :)

  • how cute

  • Too much water and no dry places for it to bask and it needs a UV light

  • im sure if there was too much water the terrapin would stay out ...of it check my vid

  • nice video nice turtle and nice tank.

  • What kind of fish are those? And where'd you get the directions? :O

Nice turtle! He kinda looks like mine :)

  • u might want to lower the water level cuz its a baby

  • no need for that baby turtles can swim fine

  • how big do they get? is that fully grown??

  • No. It's not fully grown. They can grow anywhere from 8 inches long to a foot long.

  • no this terrapin won't get that big maybe 6 inches max..

  • i have 2 yellow bellys check out my vids type in theturtlewizard (my username)

  • Nice tank and nice slider !

  • thts sick lol my tank is like as big as urs but half full didnt no u can fuill it with a baby terrapin im gonna :P

  • my small yellow belly slider got his head caught in a reallly strong filter i dont know how long for but i got him out he never opened his eyes 4 a while i think he may be blind how do i telll if hes blind or not

  • Put him in a small aquarium with 5 minnows.. leave the room for about an hour and come back. if hes eatin minnows hes fine. if not keep trying. they do not like the presence of people while they eat so be sure to leave.

  • little to much water i think u should lower it a cople inches

  • As long as it cant escape, you can never have enough water. :)

  • yellow bellie's love to swim.. alot of water is good. but it was a good observation.

  • To much water, let it be on land sometimes

  • He's really cute :D

But imo, it's one from Pseudemys, but dunno which one. For sure it's no yello belly, coz he don't have full yellow ears, and it's not cumberland slider also.

    To all ppl down:

Water turtles shoudl have as much water as possible, they'r really good swimmers and love water :) Fishes are also ok, coz turtle can hunt them, and it's really advantage, when you go somewhere for few days ;) I'd give him some water plants, they also like it, ald water snails :)

  • hey im getting a yellow belly slider, how old is he here ?

  • About a year ...

  • its very cute

  • @Surfer721 how comes he is as small as mines and mines are like 3 months old?

  • @Surfer721 WOW if yours is a year mine is well oversized

  • @The789adaptor Well mine are a year and a half and are much bigger so his are probably just slower growing! :)

  • @marshall6757 wat type of filter is that and how many gallons is your tank

  • my yellow bellied sliders looks way diiferent

  • To much water man.

  • no tellow bellies are good swimmers and can have deep water ///

  • you know its not a yellow belly slider

    its a penisula cooter

  • itz a yellow belly --cooters have spots on the bottom

  • all of u be quiet im sure if this person owns a turtle it also knows how to take care of it

  • Isn't that too much water? :S

My petshop said to fill a quarter of the tank with water and have a proper basking area.

And being with fish isn't good for him/her anyway, it should have a tank with just him and the setup he SHOULD be in. :l

  • no its ok for u to have fish in the tank like a minow(feeder fish) because they can grow by eating feeder fish my 3 RES and 1 YBS LOVE FISH and the water should be half full

  • Its a shame that every time someone tries to show off their little terrapin or turtle in a video, all the comments are full of criticism about the setup. There are much worse setups out there then what is seen in this video trust me on that. This terrapin will be fine although maybe lose a little water.

  • aaahhhh!!!! too much water!!!!!! and the lid is bad for turts....causes high humidity which is lethal!!!!! (ive been told!!)

  • you have to much water in your tank

  • That is not a slider. Wrong genus. That cute little guy is a Cooter, genus: Pseudemys. Without getting a good look at the plastron and whether the beak is serrated or not I cant tell the species, but it is either P. Concinna or P. peninsularis

  • Looks more like a cumberland to me . I'm soon gonna configure my rio 180 to take terrapin as well as fish

  • your fish might get eaten if small
