@mdo7 While that probably wouldn't have been as bad as this, it's still a bad idea, simply for the fact that Transformers is vastly inferior to the Gundam series and not worthy of a 'team-up'. Plus Transformers are firmly in Super Robot category whereas Gundam is firmly in the real robot, having Gundam basically stand-in for Transformers takes away from Tomino's idea, and it's a brilliant idea.

@MrLunitunz Not a team up but another incarnation, we already seen Transformer as animal, car robot, and other thing. Why not Gundam? Who wouldn't want to see Optimus Prime taking form of a RX 78-2 Gundam, and Megatron as a red Zaku with (the mono eye would make Megatron look evil). I can't remember the last time Transformers ever took form of real robot. But having Transformers taking form of Gundam would be kind of intreresting and much better then Doozy bot.

From what I can discern you're suggesting that Gundams basically take on sentience, and the personalities of Transformers at that. My response is that they did that, far better, with Gundam Sentinel. And you're suggesting that the Transformers, in the form of truck and cars or whatever, transform into Gundams, and I'm saying they did that better with Zeta Gundam and the Lotos from Gundam Unicorn.

@MrLunitunz It's not a bad idea, but I came up with a story and it's a little darker then any other Transformer series. It's on the same level as any Gundam. Also, Jetfire wouldn't be bad as Zeta Gundam, and Wheeljack would look awesome as Double Zeta Gundam, and Jazz would probably look good as Gundam Mk 2.

@VRtechman As laughable as this concept seems, it has its own logic to its creation: it's BECAUSE anime was new to westerners at that point that these studios wanted to Americanize them so heavily. Executives must have thought these kids would get repulsed or scared by authentic anime.

It wasn't until Dragon Ball Z came along that, while it was changed around tremendously, at least kept the basic storylines, characters, and plot points. Its success showed that Americans were okay with anime.

during the crossbone gundam saga, there was a one year war veteran who destroyed six RICKDOMS in a GUNBALL. said gunball had an unauthorized gundam faceplate attached to it because the pilot believed in the art of intimidation. when the zeons saw the so called 'B(ALL)gundam, they A: shat their pants (oh god its a 40 meter gundam) B: oh look the gundam's head is floating around (which caused gato to abandon his post at solomoon, allowing the rx78 to go past unharmed)
