  • Thanks, very good lesson!

  • Occhio alle note lontane dall'accordo......possono risultare " NO " a seconda di come vengono suonate.

  • Can you please type your website address?

    Thanks

  • @richardmills777 ,Thanks so much!!!

  • Unbelievable.

This guitar tone is like piano!

  • thanks

    Richard

  • what string gauge do you use

  • 011 to 047 Thomastik

  • man I cant play guitar at all, but im learning, and man, freddie green is awesome. great tutorial.

  • Awesome lesson, what notes were played in the arpegio scale lead. Trying to learn hot jazz sounding stuff like that but not sure how.

  • Start by learning the 9th arpeggios:

    C E G B D C maj9

    DFACE Dm9

    GBDFA (G7) and G B D F Ab (G7b9)

    in positions 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 12

    Good luck

  • I enjoy your instructing style. Very helpful tutorial. 5 stars :]

  • love the af105! sounds amazing!

  • Thanks

    Actually it's an AF125NT

The AF105 has a cream coloured scratchplate. Sorry to be a bit nerdy!

  • so basically you only play the shells of the chord (R 3 7, etc)? as bassy as possible, right? on the last 4 strings. i know sometimes the root even can be admitted, but how often will that need to be done? i play guitar for my school's jazz band and i'm trying to bring out the best in the rest of the band, but all the jazz i've been taught (mostly classically trained, though) was for small groups, which is much different, cause i gotta learn all the voicings over again! where can i find these?

  • This guy is good, but he is advanced. Do a search on youtube for: murdick rhythm guitar. You will find 17 lessons using 4 note chords which is where you should start.

  • yes that's it

    R 3 7, or: 3 and 7 with 5th in the bass

    Actually the strict Freddie Green style, I think, only ever uses string 6, 4 and 3, such that Cmaj7 is G E B ie 5 3 7

    and Dm7 is A F C ie 5 b3 b7

  • @StopTheMoti0n I realize I am replying to an old comment, but I think I have been in a similar situation and wanted to pass on info that helped me. The best help I got was from the book: "Playing Guitar in Jazz Band - A Practical Guide for Students and Teachers" By David Sinclair.

  • I love the simplicity of this style - it's all about the rhythm. You did a nice little tutorial, thanks.

  • Thanks

  • What scale did you end up playing there

  • for the lead stuff? - simply, D dorian, G mixolydian, and C lydian, but there is quite a bit of chromaticism. I think there are some flat 9ths (Ab) over the G7

  • No - just 011 to 047 Thomastik

  • Those are some monster flat wounds?!
