@DiscoPuppies I taught her tricks in sequenes and then stuck the sequences together. But ultimately, it's not about the dog remembering but rather YOU remembering the choreography - the dog just follows your cues. So you have to get your dog doing tricks & moves very reliably on cue - so that they will do them anytime, anywhere, with you in any position. This way it doesn't matter if they remember the routine or not - they're just following your commands. You can ad lib to any music really.
@DiscoPuppies If you look on my channel, there is a video called "Chinese Canine Freestyle Routine - from idea to performance" which shows you how I put together a routine and taught it to Honey, from scratch.
It must have been pretty hard to make such a great performance, with a dog this large. I mean, he was all in time and everything, simply brilliant. You should be really proud of yourself, and you're dog !!!! :)
i have huge respect for anyone who takes the time and effort to train their dog to do something like this---and double respect for anyone who does it with any breed other than a Border Collie! well done and huge applause for Honey and her owner!!!
I can appreciate how much work and effort it takes to get a cool routine with a Dane. It may not be the best dog dance you have ever seen but for a Great Dane its down right awesome, they are not the energetic flexible types like Border Collies or retrievers.

I'll have to say very good job, I know how hard it is to be able to get a large breed dog to do those things training an Irish Wolfhound myself. But you've done a very good job working with him on what he can and cannot do and coming up with an astonishing routine.

Very charming. These freestyle dogs always look so very happy and have big dog smiles on their faces. Honey's favorite part is obviously the belt tug! You could tell she was ready to grab that belt a early.
I love it! I'm teaching my 15 Month old Pug some moves, he came from champion show lines and showing isn't my kind of thing, i want to do something more fun. I've tried showing, not for me. We ran out of ideas for tricks, he can skate, he can do the laundry etc but now i've set a new challenge, canine freestyle. It's so much fun, he loves it :D

Second video I've watched on it, first was someone dancing with a long-haired shepherd i believe, to the song Drunken Sailor. It's something new to me. Different. And fun to watch. Dog dancing is actually a great way to stimulate and physchologically challenge your dog. It takes a lot of training and strengthens the trust and bond between dog and owner. Great performance! Honey looks like a real honey too!

The dog does everything but dancing. Its funny the way dog follows her hand for treat. Have a look at this year's BGT for Tina Humphry, that dog is dancing. But it seems the dog is enjoying it so I guess she will be alot better soon. good luck with training. :)

very nice I think my mantle dane leggs has a crush on honey.. lolol seiously good job to both of you i know that was a alot of work. leggs went thru puppy school and that was work.. you are right though they are so big they have to be well trained or they can become a liability.. trampeling a young kid is very easy when they start to play.....

Very well done in working with a GD! Not easy dogs. I think its great to see other breeds doing HTM and Freestyle other than collies.

What a sad person you must be with nothing better to do in life. And my dog is a GIRL - thought you would at least notice that, since you seem to know everything. Oh,so THAT's what a Great Dane head looks like.....I have a Great Bernard or a St.Dane.Has the head of a St.Bernard,the Body and fur of Great dane,and the SHEDDING of a St.Bernard.

From a trainers POV that is a nice Dane.I haven't seen that many well trained Danes before and to do that...kudos.And side note to saioo00 I hope that you don't ever produce spawns of yourself with such little intelegence!! hsinyicohen very nice job!!

I got angry when I read saioo's commitment. He must be a real sad human with absolutely small intelligence since he had to wrote what he wrote. Sad that people can act so stupid and write such completely foolish thing without knowing or respecting other humans feelings. Big hug to you from me and I love the show with your dog. Excuse me - that is my husband. He is not old (only a few years older than me) - just because he has grey hair - people are so shallow and judgemental on appearances. very nice I think my mantle dane leggs has a crush on honey.. lolol seiously good job to both of you i know that was a alot of work. leggs went thru puppy school and that was work.. you are right though they are so big they have to be well trained or they can become a liability.. trampeling a young kid is very easy when they start to play.....
