In 1980, I went to NYC for the first time in my life. I'd already fallen "in love" with Frank Langella. The only photo with which I came home was of the largest billboard on Times Square. Who was on it…Frank Langella and Sir Laurence Olivier. Enough said, thank you again for this magnificent video. The music is superb, the scenes outtakes wonderful… & again thank you! ~ JTD
No one, NO ONE, can give us the true Dracula like Frank Langella can...and this video just proves that point even more. My gods, this was seductive! That little grin of his at 2:05, and then at 3:03...holy hell, I need a cold shower. Now.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for making such great Dracula/Lucy videos!
Hey lets all dye our hair black, read Anne Rice novels, actually drink blood, pretend the world doesnt understand our dark little souls, live downtown on the street, and pretend we are something we are not. Something invented in the minds of fiction writers. GROW UP!
@SCORNDOGGMELACH you shouldn't pretend your life.. you should live it REAL... you can ignore the others but pretending as if you would do sth. would just be lieying to yourself...but still nice idea :)
@SCORNDOGGMELACH She's a fan of a movie and a pairing in a movie. If anyone's overreacting it's you. I don't see anywhere in that description for this vid anything you mentioned. I certainly don't match any of it and I too appreciate the chemistry between these two characters when watching this movie. How about you grow up? People can like what they like without fitting in your narrow little prefit boxes.
Great choice of scenes matched to the music. Thank you! I must have seen that movie 10 times the summer it came out. This IS the dracula stories women have always swooned over, why would any woman go to a monster. Dracula was supposed to be able to easily seduce. One good look at Frank Langella's eyes--well, he could've drained all MY blood!

RUBBISH FILM! Stoker did not write Dracula as a romantic idol, he is a monster with hairy palms, bad breath and bloodshot eyes! Sorry. I just had all the tragic, lonely inispid vampire crap. Christopher lee, now there was a good dracula!
I've seen just about every version of Dracula there is. If you want a true-to-the-book version, rent the Louis Jourdan television miniseries by the BBC, from I think... the 80's? I own about half of them, but this particular Dracula is my favorite. I like the romantic spin. =)
The Louis Jourdan version is definately the most accurate - right down to him tossing a baby in a bag to his wives. The Langella version has its good points, but I have to agree that the romantic elements were played a bit heavy. Certainly nowhere near as bad as the sparkley 'vampires' that we are suffering through these days. Somewhere along the line people forgot these things are dead - they're all messed up.
@Carandini But according to lore one of the things one had to fear from a vampire was being ravished. People forgot that the plumbing worked because of Anne Rice. If the plumbing did not work there would not be caveats to the husbands and wives of suspected vampires of being potentially sexed to death by their risen spouse (not eaten, sexed)--- and the dhampir (or child born of a vampire and normal person) would never have been part of the original mythology.
Surely it is down to artistic interpretation. Another take on a great story is refreshing...Frank Langella unforgettable as the most beautiful Dracula ever to exist.
brings back so many memories, watching this and i'm only 26! lol. Frank is gorgeous.. still baffling to think his ex-girlfriend in real life was whoopie goldberg.. dracula and whoopie is a strange combo, indeed! lol
This is the best of all of them. More seductive like it was suppose to be, His eyes do it for me. His features makes the best dracula anyway. He looks more Romanian or Transylvania n. Dracula is suppose to be tall, slim, dark and not buff like a body builder, 3 day old beard, wide jaws and modern. More sophisticated, charming and elegant are the best roles for Dracula. Vampires can be anything, but Dracula is suppose to be seductive and mesmerizing.
Awesome job of syncing the lyrics of the song with scenes of the movie! This is my favorite Nightwish song! I also think this movie is very underrated compared to Bram Stroker's 1992 version. I keep replaying this one every day.
well my partner use to go to his house and carfax abby his dad was a doctor my partner has the synopsis to this movie and some photos from the set .. thanks for the post

Yeah beautiful heroine and handsome male co-star. That's not what I'm talking about. I want John Carpenter's Vampires style vamps.

Actually, my favorite Underworld is the prequel, and my favorite vampire from the franchise is Viktor. Now that's an old-school vampire for you. =)
