I've run that route many times, haven't done it for ages, perhaps I should start up again. SHAPE is a great place, my son goes to the International School, Belgian Section and speaks 4 languages, not bad for a 9 year old!
@thtktgrl As far as I know it's just called the Belgian Section of the International School. He's doing well, but as like many typical 9 year old boys he hates school. He has before and after care at the SAS (or School Age Centre (SAC) as it's now called) and loves it there.
Best assignment we had when I was growing up. Went to elementary school here up to 1973 before moving to Ft. Riley, KS. We lived in Green Park in Mons and had Turkish neighbors on one side, Canadian on the other. Great experience for a child growing up. Boy, what wonderful memories of this place!
i used to live there also, 1998-2002, best four years of my life i can safely say. the GB turned into Carrefour, the school was just amazing...Mons pizzas...mm!
Avenue de Lisbonne 5, lived there from 2001-2004.. I went to SIS German Section and i have to say, that this is the best and most interesting place i`ve ever lived in...
I visited SHAPE 2 times in the last 6 years, but there is quite a big difference between living there and to be a visitor with a without green ID..

Brings back memories. I wish someone would do a bit of filming around where the cinema, bowling alley, big shop (Bon Marche??) the school, and down my old road, I lived at number 7 Rue Eyde.
My father was stationed at SHAPE from 79-84 and I graduated in 1984 from SHAPE American High. This video brought back a lot of great memories. Thanks!

10 years and 6 months at SHAPE. No other place will make a better home. Even though I am now in the Army, I will always have a heart in Belgium.
