Autism label is given to children who suffer physical problems from environmental toxins. I have autism in my family, my son was born autistic but the regression he suffered post MMR was NOT part of his autism. I am doing bio-meds to heal my son's physical problems so he can be the high functioning autistic he was born to be! Please dont get blinded by labels, that you cannot see humankind is being deliberately posioned! Wake up and ask who is doing this and why?

FINALLY! Someone who's hypothesized as I have.

I've been attacked from both sides of this issue simultanioussly, being called a bigot by fellow AS and a schill for the medical establishment by NT parents because of my position that Autism is actually a complication of Aspergers' (as opposed to Aspergers' being just a "light" Autism) and very well possibly related to SSRI vaccines and an increasingly unhealthy lifestyle (pollution, diet etc).

DC truth comes in three stages

First it is ridiculed

second it is attacked

third it is accepted as self evident.

My theory - effects of envirotoxins on sensitive autistic genes trigger regression/co-morbids - my son was dx'd autistic AFTER a regression post-MMR.  Only after speaking to an autistic adult did I find out that my son's autistic personality was present from birth. Many parents dont see the traits in themselves. Regression/comorbids are triggered by enviromental toxins.

Well, to be fair, there are many positive sides to autism and it is not very encouraging to bring up your child to think of their brain as diseased. My family encouraged me and brought me up to accept my autism and I'm not saying that I woud deny a person of a cure if they asked to cure themselves but I'm just saying that there needs to be a balanced view on autism because we don't even fully understand the brain or what normality trully is.

Why can't you just accept that some people are happy to have autism in their family? Nobody is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to think the way I do. Many AS symptoms are what I have accepted as my personality traits and although autism isn't the most defining thing about me, it's still a part of me. This positive attitude just works for me so why is it such a problem for you?

The upside to Aspergers' (NOT autism, which is something that just happens to ARISE WITHIN people with Aspergers') is that they would infact be a healthy, independent (or at least interdependent) generation. NTs are unproductive because all they do is screw around with eachother, and they are indeed VERY dependent upon eachother.

AS fosters self-discipline and critical thinking, not blind sentiment (and auxillary to this, AS are only victems when they buy into self-defeating NT sentiments).

DC I am a NT parent with two autistic children, I am personally not upset by your words as yours is a natural response for anyone who feels they are being attacked and labelled as "defective" by an unelightened society.

I was lucky I found an aspie who was gentle enough to explain to me what autism truely was, thereby helping me to connect the dots.

Many autistics are born to NT parents who are unaware of - do not see the traits within themselves/their families.

By using bio-meds I am seeking to re-dress the imbalance in my children that has been caused by the environmental toxins.  If my son's father had been given MMR he would probably have ended up non-verbal. I believe society has been collectively lied to as to what autism truely is - vaccine/enviromentally damaged children were then labelled autistic - protecting the drugs companies - I also suspect a eugenics agenda to target autistics themselves (pre-natal tests/media propoganda).

well anything is possible, but I think the more obvious explanation is a combination of contamination sources causing neurological damage, throwing their compass off, ya' know, it is an undenaible coincidence, worth noting, that we are seeing high levels of toxins in human bodies, we seem to be hitting a saturation point,

For many, it is not a belief but fact based on testing then subsequent treatments. Others have mentioned that their child never had a regression but was like that from birth. I don't know the answer for the what and how in other situations, but since 1:6 women have mercury levels that are "dangerous", it may not take much..ie trace amounts in vaccines or much more in flu shots, to render babies at risk.

There are a few things I could see as being explained in another way:

Amish/no autism-perhaps because they are society who takes care of their own, and maybe they don't stigmatize, try to cure, they accept.

The rise in ASD, and other neurological issues: the criteria for autism has broadened.

That might be true for mild cases, but severely autistic kids stick out like a sore thumb. Remember, this was an MD making the observation. He's more likely to be pretty objective than most folks.

Making autism look like a disease makes the people who have it feel worthless. The reason why is hurts so much is because of the stigma around it. Stigma is a lot worse than autism; it destroys the fabric of society, tears down relationships, envokes self hatred and so on. If we tried to see autism from a good light, maybe it wouldn't hurt so much. heck! Maybe we wouldn't even need a cure.

The problems with diagnostic labels and resulting self-image apply to many other "personality" related disorders as well. The disorder is so pervasive that it is an integral part of the person's self-image. If you are made to view yourself as "diseased," that isn't a very positive thing. It may be somewhat easier to think of it as "having" a disease, but only slightly.

do you think they don't know they are different?? i don't think this has hit your little brain, some of these kids will never be truly independent, as much as we love them, and as much as we will do our best, and give them all we can to help, i wouldn't ever give them the impression that they are worthless, but they are victims, and you and i both know that this is a social catastrophy

Second, I think I made a valid point about people's attitude toward mental disorders.
