looks like a graphical or processing lag, turn your graphics down to their lowest and use the task manager to end ALL processes that are not needed

I have the same problem but not that bad as yours,I did everything just to remove the damn lag in my left 4 dead 2, But now, its almost like no lag! :D,but in some chapters its kinda laggy,Here is what I did: First, I change the settings to the lowest,Second,I use game booster and last,I am turning off my flashlight while playing this game.

i have the exact same problem (but not as bad as yours) and before you say "get a better computer" and stuff like that, tf2 runs fine mw2, runs perfectly well and even fallout new vegas is amazing! And even at high quality too!

Atleast you can fucking move. I suddenly have a fuckload of lag on l4d2, online a lot more than offline. It takes 20 minutes just to start up the game, by then I'm already set on idle and half through the game. And every time there are zombies on screen or someone fires a gun I completely freeze for 15 seconds, after that I have another view for 15 seconds and so on, until the zombies are dead.

I had basolutely no problems before, but I recently downloaded some custom campaigns, is that it?

There is no way to fix this except buy a gaming PC

This is caused by looking at something. If you look at a wall, it will render EVERYTHING on the map behind the wall. If you looked up in the sky,there wouldnt be much to render, so no lag.

When you wiped ur computer you probable remove some important shared files that are needed to help with the performance of some applications... thats probable the reason why... try updating all you drivers and computer... maybe that will help...

Trust me, this is major deja vou, I have L4D2, and I did the same thing, and it got worse than this, the screen was black, and I couldn't even see! And if I keep it up like that for a while, the B.S.O.T comes up...

have you trieds windowed screen mine was like that at first and put your paged memory on low! and shader deatail and low it should help! if not msg me ill think of something cause iv been lagging lately so i tell you if i find something

make sure you have DELETED Laggy stuff off your internet if that does not work,put your setting to LOW As heck

i think when you did the wipe you may of unistalled your drivers just check and see.

ok, so u say that this happened after u wiped out your computer. by wiping out, what do u mean? formating the hard drive? uninstalling junk? either way, if u r getting rid of data off your computer, what u can try doing is reinstall your bios, motherboard, and graphics drivers + updating them.

another thing to do is try keeping your computer as cool as possible.

What are your specs? Kinda looks like your cpu is overheating. Use to happen to me all the time, i got this exact same effect. If you're on a desktop then open it up, obviously get rid of any dust, but also, remove your cpu heatsink and clean off the thermal composition residue, and apply some more. (you can find tutorials for cleaning residue and adding more thermal composition anywhere on youtube), if you're on a laptop then get a cooler.
