  • I can't believe UMG tagged this when it is on her record company's channel.

  • Comment removed

  • the queensberry version is soooo much better....

  • @DiniGabbyFan The queensberry version is more similar to the original Metric version. Personally, I find the Queensberry version sucks all the meaning out of it.

  • I Think This song is about how we live in a drug world, where doctors can't see what's wrong with us, they just give us a pill and thats exactly what they've been taught. these are the symptoms, that means this, this means i have to give you the red ones! "If the lonesome lows dont quite go away overnight, take the blue ones"

  • shes a not bad looking girl, but she lookes like a meth addict in this video....she looks terrible (in the begining). she gradually looks better thru the video.

  • @farkdanarc I think that's the point of her song.

"Lonesome lows that don't quite go away overnight."

  • This is so many peoples lives

  • i love this vid sometimes i think this is gonna happen to me cuz of how long i take to find something out of my bag

  • u think ul be trippin balls in wally world and have to domino sum bitches? wtf i dont even kno

  • Emily is one of my three absolute favorite female singers of all time. The other two are Sarah Slean and Leslie Feist.

  • Emily is definetly mine. Has been for years (:

  • She has such a cool voice. I love it. I can't help listening to her songs over and over.

  • it's about how people can't understand people feeling lonely... pills seem to be the answer to everytihng nowadays.

  • Beautifully depressing.

  • great song

  • what a powerfull voice it gives me chills

  • Can someone explain the video?

Don't get me wrong, its beautiful, I just dont get it.

  • If you knock somebody down who's at the front of a line, people will fall down like dominoes. And you better run the hell out of there, cuz it will be frightening. :)

  • these doctors these days just give any1 pills and people think that all there problems will go away right away....so vid is like all the everyday people who are just functioning, not living there, just pill poppers who laying down and takin it.....an it scares her because this could become her 1 day...so she runs away

  • dear god emily haines is beautiful.

  • Omg yes

  • @LemonadeRose Hell yeah!

  • if that happened to me in the store I would just start stealing everything

  • hermunge! lol, nice name

  • this is such a great video! very poignant, go emily (and the team behind it!)

  • Totally AWESOME

  • 2:02 was absolutely amazing.

    very horror movie-esque.

  • Seriously I'm pretty sure that's a Zellers, lol.

  • Club Zed points...OF DOOM!

  • Good old Zellers :D

  • Yeah it is, good call.

  • yup, the red lines in the store give it away

  • GO CANADA!

  • Truly is poetry... fantastic

  • i love this :)

cant wait to see her in LA with metric :)

  • I tend to like louder faster and heavier music yet I cant understand I why i like this more so than metric?

I guess there is just more depth to her less popular solo stuff. I find more intensity in "knives" and "Cut and half.."

  • I really love this whole album. I got it as a gift and listen to it all the time. Emily is beautiful....I have a big crush on her but shhh, don't tell anyone internet.

  • I like Metric, but I also like this style to, it's a little different. More mellowish I think.

  • She's gorgeous. And her songwriting makes me cry... amazing voice, amazing talent.

  • 905 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • emily haines is beautiful, and so is this song. i love it.

  • emily haines and the soft skeleton always has an ethereal sense in their songs that make them good yet different from the sound of metric

  • freeaky

  • She is soo beautiful. there is not one song that I have never liked from her and metric.

  • You obviously have lots of anger o_O

You should talk to someone about that...

  • you have eminem on your preferred

  • What does the t-shirt say?

  • Looks like "Jane Wells-Schooley - Congress."

    1:43

  • Jane Wells

    Schooley

    -------------

    Congress

  • Emily Haines is fucking amazing. In everything she's ever done.

  • you definitally gotta listen to her lyrics before watching her vids.

    she rules

  • she should be a lot more popular than she is

  • I do this in Zellers all the time!

  • you play people dominos in zellers??

  • Yeah! :D It's fun.

  • ahaha thats awesome you must know a lot of people :| and iam definitely going to try it sometimee: D

  • ROFL. :P Okay, have fun with it. :)

  • wouldnt that hurt??

  • With my experience, nope. :)

  • Not if you have someone good to fall into. Haha.

  • Now thats unfair. We don't have a Zellers in Scotland to play people dominos in...Oh well Asda will have to do.

Got to say I really love this song though.

  • I actually think this video enhances the song, which is so rare.

  • It takes an incredibly beautiful woman to look so good under harsh florescent lights.

  • awesome song, wack video...

  • 'Skeletons Don't Have Your Back' is an amazing album! I love this song? Does anybody know where the video was taken?

  • Actually it's Knives don't have your back, but I agree it's amazing. :]

Also, it was shot in Zellers. Basically the canadian wal-mart.

  • Whoops, sorry for the typo!

    Anyway, thank you for responding!

  • This is a great video, maybe not as great as Our Hell, but excellent nonetheless.

  • emily haines is beautiful, and so is this song. i love it.

  • My favourite part is the chorus. I think this song is about depression...with the mention of pills and depressing feeling of this song. The dominos part represents how many other people you hurt when you're closed and depressed. Love Emily Haines!! Great Musique!

  • haines and sarah polly. . god damn. two of my favorite canadian gals. . . the video was sweet. it had a vibe reminiscent of a radiohead video. deep, a bit dark, but universally appealing

  • :swoon:

Lord, but the mood is tangible. Absolutely brilliant.

  • I LOVE EMILY.

  • Emily's so beautiful and talanted!!! love her voise

  • Ohhhh Her voice is heavenly

  • I really love this.

  • anything emily does is good by me.

  • its funny, i get that exact same feeling whenever im in a department store - theres this bizarre, overwhelming sense of suffocation and death. lives leading nowhere but round the next corner, toward the next purchase. i cant even go to the mall, its too much.

  • that is exactly related to the comment I was about to make. I love the atmosphere of this video and there is definitely a weird feeling one can get by watching this video. I was wondering if anyone knew any other videos with this atmosphere. Music videos or movies.

  • bros before hoes....im dissapointed.

  • emily: you are very interesting and beautifully mysterious, like a good, non-best-selling novel. love from galiza, spain

  • the vid and song remind me of something along the lines of radiohead...i like

  • One of the better videos Ive seen lately.

  • the synth/instrumentation behind the first "da da da"'s is incredibly addicting. well, so are the "da da da"'s.

the song works well as supermarket muzak, i suppose.

oh yeah, no zellers in the u.s... haven't noticed

  • You've got Wal-Mart. ...

So have we. We're being ripped-off twice.

  • the songs depressing, but it seems to give me a lift...funny how Ms. Haines works

  • you know what i hate, is when a bunch of ppl make a line behind me and i have to knock them over like dominos

  • Hehehehehe

  • Great idea.

Depressing song + most depressing place to shop in the universe = solid video skillz

  • haha, that guy fell down in the womens underware section

  • I used to go to zellers all the time when I lived in Canada

  • im in love with this song.

  • Fantasic vid. and song.

  • i love you <333

  • Props on filming in ZELLERS.

Thank you Emily Haines/Last Gang Records for being a part of making Canadian music fresh again. I have a huge amount of respect for what the record label is trying to do for Canadian music (I am forever in debt).

  • this happens everytime i go to walmart

  • hahahaha

  • Thats such a good video.
