  • Ur right that was a sad story... ;( the saddest part was at 7:15...

  • I don't see why people sell their kittens. They are living things like us and we practically everything they do for example eat, urinate, let our waste out, clean our selves. My cat gives birth to like 5 kittens every year and my family and I never sell the kittens cos we loved them and selling is wrong to make money out of them.

  • I have an ex friend who treats animals as disposable.I stopped talking to her all together when she was on her third cat and her daughters were hysterical over her leaving the last cat behind after they moved.I really hope she fries in hell one day.I won't adopt and we are dying to have another cat but our income is low and if I cannot afford a vet then I won't adopt.

  • My cat just had kittens. They stay inside. Yes. If someone wants one it's free. Ofcourse I dont know whether or not that person is going to kill it or whatever. But dude this can happen to any cat.

  • @emiGriTs

There are so many cats that need homes that are in shelters right now. Even if every single one of your kittens goes to a really good home, there is another cat or kitten in a shelter who will die because that home was not open for them to be adopted. Please spay your cat before she has another litter, if only for the mama cat's sake. As she gets older, producing litters will become very hard on her body, and just like a human, it will leach calcium from her skeleton.

  • @Rubystars1000 dude you dont think i know this already? We took her and the kittens to a shelter that doesnt kill in my town. Hopefully they went to a good home, if not then i cant help that.

  • @emiGriTs btw i dont breed them. She went outside and got pregnant on accident and thats how she had them. I have many cats and trust me i take care of them and they are ALL fixed except for her because she was only 9 months. And times are tough and we dont have the monet to just go and fix them it costs like 130 bucks.

  • @Kittykitty997

Giving a cat to someone you KNOW will take good care of them is ok. Giving them away free to the public however is a HORRIBLE idea.

  • Don't buy mars candy they test their products on animals

  • @finance87

I'm curious to know more about this. Usually I associate animal testing with cosmetics companies or drug companies or medical schools. What use would a food company have for animal studies?

  • For Christmas my dad got me kittens although they were each from different farms there were signs outside of both of them free kittens I wonder what happened to their brothers and sisters

  • @finance87

At least yours are safe. I'm not saying don't adopt them I'm saying don't breed them and don't give them away free.

  • This is so sad :'(. I recently got a new kitten from a farm, she was free. The owners of the farm use her mother as a kitten making machine. Ugh I wish I could of taken the kitten's mother, aswell as the kitten.

  • @Glamagal2009

At least you were able to give your kitty a good home! Make sure she gets spayed ok?

  • wow.. this opened my eyes this is insane!

  • @bridgetunknown

Yes it is! Spay and neuter your pets to prevent these kinds of things.

  • So sad :'(

  • this video was so sad that i hanged myself.. (i got better though)

  • @dwilmer7

LOL! I hope you're recovering all right!

  • I just got a free kitten, and her name is Mistcheif. She's three months old, small, besides being a bit skinny, she's doing fine. <3 I swear she never stops purring, unless she is put in a cage when she doesn't want to. I want to breed her, but, my parents said no. ^-^; This story was very sad, very sad. D:

  • @WarriorNerdz

I hope that this video will show you that it's not a good idea to breed kittens. Look at the story of Pyewacket in the poem. One day there were a lot of cats at the shelter, then there were none. They got euthanized. Thousands of beautiful, loving, adoptable cats and dogs are killed all the time because there aren't enough homes for them. Breeding should be rare, pets should be spayed or neutered. Your kitty will also be healthier in the long run if you spay.

  • @Rubystars1000 It did, and I do understand now. Adding, my kitten would probally be healthier, like you said. :) Yeah, I always wanted a cat/dog from the shelter, but my parents hate spending that money on them. So now, my brother wants a dog because he squezzes Mischeif too hard. And my dad is too lazy to drive to any shelter to take a look, and I'm too shy to ask him to. He doesn't think we need a dog, but if we don't, my brother could end up hurting my kitten. *Sigh* Any suggestions? :)

  • @WarriorNerdz

Your parents need to help you control your brother. Tell them how important it is that he not hurt your kitten, and do everything you can do to keep the two separate until he can learn to be gentle. You might be shy but asking for your parents help in protecting your cat would be a good first step in overcoming your shyness, and a way to stand up for the kitten who depends totally on you for everything, including protection.

  • First of all the pictures you used were 3 different breeds of cats. NOT. What a piece of absolute bullshit fiction. Yes sometimes bad things happen to kittens when given away free. But to infer all kittens that are given away free are going to meet a tragic life or death is pure bullshit. So the next time you decide to write up another piece of fiction, please use photo's of actual litter mates and then stick your paper and pen up your ass.

  • I've never known a female ginger cat, they may exist but out of the litters my family cats have had all the ginger ones have been male. This story was sad and although these things do happen it seems a bit fictional which only puts you off the main moral of the story. The only one that appeared for the 'free' to be an affecting factor was the two laboratory cats, it seems (especially the ones that loved the cats), would of paid for their kittens and the kitten would of still had the same fate

  • @snowkitten2712

There are female gingers and male tortoiseshell/calico cats but usually gingers are male and tortoiseshell/calicos are female. It's not my poem, but was written by Jim Willis and I didn't want to alter the poem. Thanks for the comment!

I think the point in paying for the kittens is that people will put more value on them. If people are of the mindset "this is a free cat" they may be reluctant to spend extra money on vaccinations, etc. We want them to be valued.

  • @kcp1062

I didn't write the poem. However I did select the pictures to go with it for this video. Not all kittens given away free meet a tragic end, and I have nothing against adopting them. I just don't think they should be given away free because then people will value them less. Even nasty comments help this video rank you know so you are helping me.

  • i know somebody who gives away "free kittens" they only give to those they know!-

  • @theallycat112

That's much better than the "free to good home" which snake owners, laboratories, etc. look for. However I think best of all would be if that person you know didn't breed at all and would get his or her cats and dogs spayed and neutered. Every extra cat that is born and adopted means another shelter animal will die because there's no room in the home for them. Stop the littering!

  • In the past two years, I have owned seven cats.

Most of them ran away or were caught by dogs, one I think my neighbour stole.

I was never a lucky cat owner. But then, around three weeks ago, TWO kittens just appeared out of nowhere in my yard. Now I'm taking care of them and so far I think that they will stick around for a long time.

  • @MarincAndrei

I suggest keeping your cats indoors and of course spay and neuter them, and I also recommend microchipping them. If you microchip your cats you have a bigger likelihood of seeing them again, especially if you insist on letting them outdoors.

  • @Rubystars1000 I still have those two cats and they never leave my yard.

  • @MarincAndrei

Great! I hope you spayed/neutered them and microchipped them!

  • @Rubystars1000 Still too young for spaying, will take them soon though. Microchipping is not available in my country, at least not that I know of. They're pretty wild anyways. They don't even like having collars on. But it's not really necessary anyways, because they rarely leave my yard, and when they do, they just go to my neighbour.

  • @Rubystars1000 Oh and I can't keep them indoors, I'm not home most of the time and have an alarm, so they would start the alarm if i left them indoors. And they don't like being kept captive. I don't keep them as pets, I have my dog for that, they're just living mousetraps that double as a cute fuzzy pet. I let them sleep inside when its cold even though they have an insulated cathouse. I also let them keep me company sometimes.

  • This is idiotic. The real danger in giving away free kittens is for them to become bait, the rest of this bullshit is trivial and could / has / will happen to a cat given away for free or sold. Fucking retard.

  • @angelhatesyou75217

Talk to someone who works in rescue some time. They know and there are reasons why they charge adoption fees even when they are overwhelmed with cats or dogs they want to get adopted out.

  • this is so sad... D:

  • Thank you so much for posting this, it's touched my heart so much that I'm crying my eyes out right now. I have two cats myself and I love them to bits and they have been neutered, vaccinated, we pay insurance, the whole deal. I agree, it's disgusting how people mistreat cats and other animals and they should realise that once you buy a pet you have to treat it with respect, love and the right care. I hope this video has touched lots of other people and made them realise a cat has feelings too.

  • @justmejadey

Thank you for being a good guardian/pet parent to your sweet babies :)

  • :( I got my cat at the flea market. The lady charged me 10 dollars for him. He was tiny and I bet he'd just barely been weaned. When I picked him up and held him I knew I couldn't leave him there cause I just knew something bad would happen to him. So I borrowed 10 dollars from my sister and held him in my lap all the way back home. Even though I don't have a job myself, I paid for his first vet visit and he's been neutered and is strictly an indoor kitty. He's the best cat in the world.

  • @LeosRayne

Thank you for your great work in giving your kitty a loving forever home. :)

  • I cried watching thisT^T I hate it when people have impulse pick up and then dont know how to care for them

  • I cried watching thisT^T I hate it when people have impulse pick up and thendont know how to care for them

  • I cried watching thisT^T

  • I couldnt even go past 3:00 it was so sad!!!

    I love kittens!!!!!

  • THIS MADE ME CRY!!!!!!!

  • the last one made me sick.. that is so horrible! :( Thank you for making this video! People truly need to realize that they cannot just give away kittens to anyone.. they need to know they are going to a good home.

  • At 5:52

I had to stop it because i started to get sad :(I hate people that abuse kittens and cats

  • the last part gave me chills... "you are finally free kittens"

  • My uncle used to breed cats. He sold every single kitten, irrespective of colour or markings, for a high cost which seemed unreasonable to me. He even made potential owners fill out a survey about cats and why they want a kitten. 50% of the times he refused to sell the kitten just coz the potential family 'failed' the survey. I thought he was a crazy old man... till I got a cat of my own and i realized that he made sure people who took those kittens looked at them as an investment & commitment.

  • @turnolife24

Thanks for your comment. Yes he was wise to be careful about who got the cats. I don't think it's a good idea for most people to breed cats. Even one litter is too many. Breeders should be very rare and pets and ferals should be neutered/spayed.

  • I'm with you toot. If this evokes any emotional anything from you, you deserve the way you feel. In fact, I am going to make a post right now fabricating terrible things that people do to spaghetti monsters.

  • @quinceyfication

It's not a fabrication. If you've lived in an environment where you never have to see what happens to animals then you are lucky, or have just looked the other way perhaps.

  • i cant belive people do stuff like this. i have 2 cats well one cat and one kitten. i had one of my babys since he was 2 hours old. he came from my house. and when i moved my first baby missed all the other cats he got to play with at my mom since she has 5 cats at the time 4 kittens. so i went to the pet store and i paid almost 200 for my 2nd baby. and now i run a cat Rescue with my mom too. i am only 24 years old. and these people are how old?

  • THANK You THANK YOU for Posting This VIDEO.......

I run my own Cat Rescue & see this all the time.

FREE TO GOOD HOME is the worst idea in the WORLD

I'm going to share this video with EVERYONE

Once again I appreciate you posting this

  • @AdoptMeCanada

Thank you for all your hard work for animals. I hope this video does help some too.

I have to give most of the credit to Mr. Willis for writing the poem though.

  • @AdoptMeCanada

Thank you for all your wonderful work on behalf of God's beautiful creatures

  • @queenlunacendario

Yes but if they pay 100 dollars for a kitten they will see them as less disposable, it's the way the human mind works

  • @queenlunacendario

If you give them away for free then people won't place the same value on them that they would a cat they payed for.

  • @queenlunacendario

It's unecessary mutilation of the animal. Declawing might be justified if the only other alternative is putting a cat to sleep. However I think in most cases it's just cruel mutilation.

  • @queenlunacendario the human equivalent of de-clawing a cat is amputation at the first knuckle of the finger and toes... On top of it hurting like crazy, it means that a cat won't be able to survive if it accidentally got outside and/or got lost and didn't have anybody to feed or defend it. i hope this info helps!

  • D: My neighbor was giving away kittens 5 years ago all but one sufeered a horrible death due to sickness before they were adopted. i adopted a beautiful female kitty who has black and white spots like a cow, I gaave her to 10 year old daughter and she named her princess. She is 2 and spoiled rotten.

She loves being held and petted and cuddled when we got her she was just weaned. We love her :D this was so sad T-T

  • @GlitterGlam11

I'm glad you are taking good care of your kitten! I hope you got them spayed!

  • Two of my cats are from friends of mine- I gave them a forever home on a couple of conditions. That they be fixed, and have their 1st shots; also that all their cats be fixed, so that this would never happen again. I thank God that they listened to me-no more kittens produced by their cats. I also talked them out of declawing all their cats.

Some people CAN be educated about what should be done. We must speak loudly and constantly; you never know when your message will be heard.

  • @machikoneko

    Very good! Thank you!

  • I can not believe these Stupid PEOPLE COULD THIS THEY ARE SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @tootbug09

Some people don't know how to respect life

  • @tootbug09 I cant believe your stupid enough to think this is real.

  • I am actually looking to get a free cat, yes cat. I am a huge animal lover and i love cats even more, I hope to rescue one and give it as much love as i can. Please spay and neuter and always remember that you are bringing home a LIFE not a fuzzy moving toy.

  • @nyxong24

Wonderful! Adult cats need homes too!

  • This is stupid? How does this person know all these "stories"?

  • @darienbusaneee

It's written about what happens in real life to real kittens and uses this poem as a way of telling about these sad facts.

  • @darienbusaneee

It's a poem by Jim Willis, but it's based on things that really happen to real kittens. It's supposed to remind you that we need to respect life and take responsibilities toward animals seriously.

  • I had heard before that cats with blue eyes were almost always deaf, due to a gene connected to the eye coloring, even in cats that were dichromate, having a different color in each eye, would have the ear on the side of the blue eye would be deaf. Still sad to see how poorly these kittens are treated.

  • @Desregaurd

Cats that are all white with blue eyes tend to be deaf, but they can still make wonderful family members.

  • this made me cry becase i had my cat for 8 years befor she got out of the house and the people next store shot her people are so crul and selfish it makes me sad seeing them animals out side of walmart in a box in the hot sun getting treated like its a plastic toy great video !

  • @Alexisqueertube

It's a felony to kill a domestic animal. If I were you I would have pressed charges. So sorry to hear what happened to your baby though.

  • this is so sad saddest part wen the 2 kittens part

  • typing one handed and badly because i had to go pick up mt leia, who was a 'free kittun'. i am in tears. my leia is one of the few lucky ones... she is spayed, vetted, microchpped and indoor only. i cry for all the other ones fro her litter.. no clue what happened to them.

  • @SteelHyaena

Thank you for being such a wonderful pet parent!

  • @Rubystars1000 Even going to this page made me pick Leia up again.

A mood lightener.. Leia's favorite occupation is nuzzling into my hair and kneading it. And DROOLING in it! How can something that gross be that adorable?

  • I'm sorry, but I got mass lulz when it said: "to this day they are still together...in a jar of alcohol."

    it was a total shocker.

  • Ideally get your cats fixed, but if you do have kittens you can't keep and for some reason can't take them to a shelter (I know some around here have "surrender fees" that might be challenging to afford for a whole litter) NEVER give them away free. They'll get picked up as food for large pet snakes, sold to science labs for experiments, etc. If possible, wait til they're old enough, take them to get their shots and get fixed, and charge the amount of the vet bill.

  • @bydlomonster

It's better to get kittens fixed and socialized before adopting them out and know the homes they're going to.

  • yes, this is just what i needed. People need to realize that just a simple spay/neuter could do SO much. It's sad, but all of this really happens. D: it's terrible.

  • @kiki595

    yes Kiki very true.

  • I've decided not to give my kittens away for free. Your video made me really think about it. Thanks! They are now going to a no-kill SPCA that I volunteer at.

  • @JacketTalent

    Thank you Jacket Talent :)

  • I think giving kittens to family or friends for free is fine but not to random strangers. Now I am givng four away for free but I am getting them spayed/neutered first and I'm evaluated people who say they want one. If I determine them not suitable then they don't get one. I also periodically check up on them so that if something is wrong I can take them back.

  • @JacketTalent

That's ok if you are giving them to family or friends and will take them back if there is a problem, also wonderful you are getting them spayed/neutered first.

  • Im going to start breeding and selling

  • @Analovekittens09

I cannot take seriously anyone who worships a pedosexual massmurderer.

    End of story.

  • Very good video Ruby. There are too many cats already; the people breeding them for sale should be shot.

You don't take little kittens away fromtheir mother, brother's and sisters.

If you love animals you get them at the dog- or catpound.

Humans are selfish degraded apes, especially muslims.

  • Thanks for the nice comment.

Three of my kittens had to be taken away from their mother. She's a feral cat (Whitenose) and they would have been wild if they even survived. Now they are growing up to be fine little cats and are very tame, because I was able to take them. It made me sad, but their mother forgave me and they are alive and healthy because of it.

  • I agree that people should not breed, but I don't think they should be shot, I think they need to be educated not to breed and encouraged to spay and neuter. If they know how much suffering it causes and still choose to do it then there's something wrong with them. I don't really have a problem with a few people who are really professional at developing certain breeds but 99.999% of people with a "pure bred cat" should not be breeding. There are many, many pure bred cats in shelters.

  • I agree with you definitely that if you love animals the right place to get a new animal is from a pound/animal shelter or rescue, not by breeding your pets or by buying from a kitten/puppy mill.

  • so sad, my cat is deaf and i would never let her go outside without me....poor kittens :(

  • Thanks for taking good care of your baby! I hope she has a long, healthy, happy life with you! If you haven't already please consider getting her spayed. Not only do you not want to contribute to overpopulation but also you wouldn't want her to pass on the deafness. Thanks for commenting!

  • You had a tracking device.

Also, just because you experienced this doesn't mean others do.

  • This is a poem but it shows what can and does happen to real kittens. If you want to know what happens to real kittens then you will find in reality each and every one of those things mentioned in the poem do happen in real life. Visit an animal shelter some time and talk to the staff.

  • @Rubystars1000 Anything can happen to any creature or anyone. And they do happen in real life.

  • Bad things are more likely to happen to kittens if they're given away for free. It's better if fewer kittens are born in the first place.

  • this is so boring why dont u narrate or something

  • My microphone isn't working very well, and I feel like it has more impact if you can read it for yourself. If you want to hear my voice you can do so in some of my other videos.

  • Honestly that,s the stupidest thing i have ever heard, If all cats were spayed and neutered there would be no cats. Second this video made absolutely no sense...

  • I think as many cats and dogs should be spayed and neutered as possible until we can get the population under control. Right now there are more animals than there are good homes for them.

Some animal rights groups do want to eliminate all pets. I don't agree with that. However I don't think any regular pet owner should be allowing their pets to breed.

There is no excuse for it.

  • I personally saw the tragedy that happened to many kittens because their mothers weren't spayed. For a list of names check out my RIP feral kittens video.

Graykit died a horrible death under the hood of a car when it started huddling there for comfort and thinking it was safe. Baby died of a secondary infection she was left vulnerable to due to ringworm taking over her entire skin and weakening her already weak immune system of a young kitten. Cinder got hit by a car.

  • Blackie's Mini-me likely suffered the same fate as Graykit, and I'm not sure what happened to Blackie's other two babies. Smokepaw was half crushed by a car and suffered horribly with one eye bugging out monstrously before she had to be put down.

These were deaths of kittens from just two unspayed females.

  • Thank you for passing on this info.

  • You're welcome. I wish everyone would understand what it means to let their cat have kittens and especially to give them away "free!"

Female cats should be spayed and male cats should be neutered. It would be a better world if most cats were.
