It's one of my dreams to become an SPCA officer. I love animals dearly and I hate seeing them suffer by those who don't care. I'm going to start school next year when I return to the states. I'm currently in the US Army and stationed in Germany. Heading to Ft. Bragg, NC next and I'm taking that whole year to go to school. Been deployed 2 times to Iraq and have earned my dwell time. LOL!!!

All you really have to do is go to college and get into Criminal Justics or Administration of Justice. Take some courses in Animal Care (or whichever the course is regarding animals) and you should be good. I don't know if they want certain degrees in it but, I'm getting my BA in Criminal Justice. Hope this helps... if not, look into a college or community college and talk to a guidance counselor. I'm sure they can help. :D

I have debated if animals are really that important I mean by no means should someone mistreat an animal but I was watching a show and this homeless man had a dog that was sick it was a guy like an animal cop that came and took the dog so it could be treated and left the homelessman on the corner. I just have a problem with that animal life over human life. I know that was just one incident but there could be more. Is it right to do that?

A grown man that has the ability to take care of himself, that has the ability to get a job and make his own life. A dog follows the lifestyle and rules of the owner. If the owner's in a crappy condition then the animal will be too. So the best thing to do is to take that dog out of that kind of environment and put them in a good rehabilitative environment. Besides, it's the job of these animal precinct officers to do what's in the best interest of the animal, not the person.

There really is help out there for him if he wanted to. These organizations are meant to help animals and there are those meant to help people. Churches are often free and offer help to get people back on their feet. It's not a matter of there being no help, it's just a matter of finding it.

That, and, a dog is much cheaper to rescue than a human.

You forget, animals can't do what us humans can. The animal should be rescued first. The human can go to a shelter or like Arckra said, "Churches are often free and offer help..." But it all depends if that person will look for the help. Some believe that help will come to them, instead of them seeking it. It's called laziness.
