Not realy.

I think It's pretty easy to learn,

This animation is very basic stuff,

3d's max is good for very basic beginer work

to professional work.

Did you make the ring then texture it and all that, and add it to a particle with gravity and forces?

because I'm not very good with particles and forces in Max I simply created a ring and animate it.
