@only257 The special effects actually aren't bad for a low-budget film of this vintage ( the guy who did them even won an academy award later on for his work on another movie ),.. and mst3k sucks cum!
@voluminoushead888 love the mst3k first of all second of all i already know this from trailersfromhell website that is what they said on a commentary and third of all the story is totally stupid!
@only257 Ridiculous far fetched plots tend to be particularly common with vintage monster flicks ( like this one ),.. thats part of their appeal though ( certainly as far as I'm concerned ). I didn't really mean it when I said MST3K "sucked cum" ( though they did annoy me sometimes, but THATS puting it too strongly ),.. I just wanted a little rise out of you there.
@voluminoushead888 yeah that's true about some of the movies that mst3k makes fun of like the magic sword that movie was good but mst3k episode was hiliarous but at times annoying though
This movie is classic. Worms up to your ankles. I will never EVER forget the scene where the worms eat that lady to the bone. It was a real quick shot, but it was terrifying. Never forgot that image.
A classic, indeed! I just HOPE that Hollywood DOESN'T do a re-make of THIS movie! Do the worms in this movie look real-or what? I love the "pig squeal" sound effects that was used for the worms!
Well actualy, the worms in this flick ARE REAL,.. when they'r shown in close-up. Those are actual clycera or "blood worms", they actualy exist in nature.
However, the big ole blob-type thing, which they collectively form into, looks just like a giant craweling mass of spaghettie.
Hi my name is Evan O'Hare. I am the scary little boy voice on the back ground sound track of this film. I Recorded this track in London England as a child. If you would like an autograph let me know. I recently talked jeff lieberman and he told me this might be something people would like. Let me know and watch out for worms.
Good morning, Good afternoon, or Good evening, (whenever you get this) Evan, or Mr. O'Hare (whichever you prefer), it's a (rare) pleasure and privilege to "meet" you! I'm 39, right now, but I, DO, remember seeing Squirm when I was six with my parents (can you believe that? A six-year-old seeing Squirm?). In my opinion, even in 2009, your singing "adds an EXTRA eerieness" to the film! What other films have you lent your vocal talents to? Are you, STILL, in show business? Good health to you, sir!
good day mr. anguish! thanks for the kind words, so you saw it at six eh? hope it didn't damage you badly. no more singing on movies but i do act and i'm a member of the screen actors guild struggling among many but love it when i work!!
i take it your still a budding film fan!!! best to you
Always had a soft spot for this movie. The intro says: "On the evening of the 29th of September 1975, during an electrical storm........." I was born that evening, (about 7.40), during a storm. Don't think any powerlines hit the floor anywhere near, but if they had my baby photos could have turned out a lot more interesting. Would love to see this movie again. Cheers
That artwork is pretty cool,..of the screaming skull, worms and tormented naked victims, I've always liked that. Wish that I had the poster of it ( though I do already own an old Vestron video copy with that image on the cover ).
I, too, like the movie poster for Squirm! In my opinion, the artwork would look great on a t-shirt! In my opinion, humans wonder just how well mother nature adjusts to the modern era after watching Squirm, or Jaws, or Rattlers, or Kingdom of the Spiders.
Hi! I am the person who sang the intro and still have the original words on a small piece of paper. I recorded it in London. Not sure where to find the sound track?
Worst fucking thing I have ever seen in my entire life. If only there was any possible way for me to get that hour and a half back I would. It made me want to put my dick into a electrical socket.
Saw this in 77' at the drive-in. Triple feature: 'Squirm', something I slept through, & 'Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind'. I'd trade all the air-conditioned / $6 popcorn theaters in the world for those days back.
LOL I remember watching this as a kid on KTLA Ch.5 back in the early 80's, with my sister & my friends. This movie really traumatized me. I diddnt want to take a bath for weeks.
THIS MOVIE SCARED THE LIFE OUT OF ME WHEN I WAS A KID!!!

"Squirm: A new experience in pure fright!" Great ironic slogan for a movie about inexplicably mutated worms.

We loved this movie as kids. Channel 43, Cleveland classic.
WE used to joke about it as kids when we hunted earthworms in the backyard.

I used to see it all the time on 43 also. This and "Day of the Animals" seemed to be on there often.
