I agree this is an awesome record that really shows what a great producer Jacques Morali was, but I hope everyone knows that this song (and the other 2 songs on side one of the same album) are all remakes.
Trilha sonora das vitórias de Emerson Fittipaldi na Fórmula Indy na Bandeirantes e cortina de fundo do Jornal da manhã da Jovem Pan AM até o ano passado.
This was along the same lines as Baby Face and Chattanooga Choo Choo, taking songs from big bands and making them disco sparkly. Back then they were disco novelty. Best song? I would lean more towards Never Can Say Goodbye - GLoria Gaynor or in the techno stream, I Feel Love - Donna Summer, both of which were glorious on the dance floor. (Also Last Dance-DS, Heaven Must've Sent you-Bonnie Pointer, Instant Replay-Dan Hartman... my partner says Got To Be Real for funk and others)
What a CLASSIC...Remember this from 1975 like it was yesterday..Wow to be 15 again and music like this.....15 today..LOL!!! I feel sorry for the youth today...The music is way too TECHNO AND BLENDED INTO A GLASS..No originality whatso ever!!
This song was first introduced in the 1943 Disney animated film "Saludos Amigos" where Donald Duck and Jose Carioca danced to a samba in the song called "Brazil". It was also done by Xavier Cougat, but just then, the Ritchie Family did a disco version of that song which was also used in the film "Saludos Amigos". As I was saying, nice version!
Thanks for posting this on here. I was four or five when my moms brought this on 45. When she either had her friends or my aunt over at the house, she would play it. She even played it at my grandmother's house, too.
I totally agree with you when you said Fantastic is not good enough! I loved this song the minute I heard it back in like the mid 90's when i bought a collection of Disco Songs, I must of been 15 at the time. I plaid this over and over again...Love it back then and still do now. Always puts a smile on my face :)
@maddadram1 I wasn't around for that but wish I had been :( Yeah the best disco song were not the top 40 but the underground club once. The top 40 were more pop with a little disco beat....if that!
What a gem! Has the Salsoul and Sound of Philadelphia sounds all over it. Not sure if I would give it the very TOP vote, but definitely in the Top Five. You're right, though, fantastic is NOT good enough for it. Thanks for posting.
i love this music still now in 20012 its still the shitttt

So true!! the music played at the clubs was the best, not the Top 40 pop
with a disco sound on the radio!

You misspelled Ritchie in your opening credits. It's not "Richie."

Anyone who has lived through the disco era and hit all
the disco clubs in the 70's and early 80's knows that the
best disco tunes weren't the top 40 radio tunes.. you had
to go to the disco clubs to hear the real true disco music.
