the most basic way to train a front flip is do a hand stand then land on you feet thats how i got the basics then i used the arm movements and i eventually got it
Ok i don't have a trampoline but i practice on flat ground and using cushions off a couch in case i screw up but i am having trouble getting my tuck in how can i improve that?
you roll wrong your supposed to roll straight you are supposed to roll from your shoulder to your hip on the other side to reduce the amout of contact to the spine
dude can i practice sideflips on a trampoline? Is it hard or easy to do a sideflip on a trampoline? nice video, another question, after doing this perfect at a trampoline should i go and practice on a park?
ParkourBlog, you seem to be misunderstanding what blocking is. It has NOTHING to do with your arms. What you do with your arms is setting. Blocking is how you take off. Which you do wrong, but this should help. Blocking is used to transfer horizontal momentum into vertical lift. To block you need to take off with your feet in front of your body weight. there are tutorials out there on how to do so. Just look at any sport that requires jumping, they take off with their legs in front of their body
Thank you very much for the tutorial, I am going to work on this tomorrow morning. I only have one question, how do you get over the fear of landing on your head? I bought a trampoline last week for the purpose of learning acrobatic techniques, but I found no matter how much air I get I still am hesitant to try the front flip manoeuvre.
do you know how to do a double kong? if you know please make a tutorial. it will help me. thnx a lot. i learn dash and kash vault watching your tutorials :D
hopefully you don't always roll like that you will damage your spine roll is from shoulder to hip if you rolled on a line of pain it would make a diagonal line on your back
I you dont ha a trampoline do basic roll with blocking. learn blocking. later try it with a jump. Jump must be performed like shown on this video. jump up with both legs then land on your hands and finish it with roll and blocking. That why I hate freeruners. They cant do even the basic roll and allready doing flips. Start allways with basics
this is easy if u land on youru abck u are definetly not douin this technique cuz i do this technique and the worst thats happened to em is a landed on my feet and fell on my ass but keep practicin and eventualy you'll land properly on youru feet liek me =) nice tut dude 5/5
or you could do what i used to do and un tuck to soon go to your local gym and flip in the foam pit but stay in the ball do that over and over then flip and open up keep practicing you will soon get it
@mrWorldofWacraft lol, the problem is either wrong technique or leg strength, its good to have massive leg-strength, because front flips are essentially harder, also, blocking. look up how to block on this site. it not like a fighter block, its were you block your momentum by going against gravity, e.a jump forward then stretch your legs out.
dude just go for it! think like u can land it and u will if u don't land it properly u will still only land on your ass/feet so it won't hurt hope this helps :)
film it, and slow it down, i recently did it with this front flip and actually i go down right at the end. Maybe you can figure ur problem out that way
nice tutorial, i'll have to try it sometime. small tip - the red text is very hard to see written over the trampoline. Is it a problem if I can't jump very high?
i know, i thought it was sorted now :(, got the same problem in a few other videos, but theres not alot of colours i can use that blot out the background, if theres nything you want told what is ment to mean just comment. And i'm not sure, this move is a fair amount of power, so i assume the higher you can jump the better, but i doubt if you can't jump that high u'll never be able to front flip, just work the front flip muscles in your legs (probs best if your not landing to use a matt for that)
if you mean handstand by the static holding version, then that. If not its doesn't really matter in what order you learn them. Handsprings are probably easyest and front flips safeist...but there also hardest. so i dunno, i learnt handspring-frontflip-backflip, but thats not 2 mean there arn't other ways
aw, and one more thing i know backflips are easyer then fronflips but i'm afreid to do them ;F (i'm afreid to hit the ground with my head :D )lol but i'm doing frontflips in my schools gym =o
yer, thats why i learnt it handspring-frontflip-backflip. I have always been afraid to go backwards, just know you can do it, build the adnenaline and hope :)
i started to learn my frontflip in a high jump pit but then i moved to a diving board to perfect rotation. but now i cant seem to get the heigth i used to have and i've been landing on my back. anything i should try?
if your landing on ur back 1 problem may be mental. You may exspect to land on your back and so you do. But then it could be that the diving board made it easyer so your technique to block may have got sloppy or your takeoff or something. Its difficult to tell without seeing
1 foot is weird, if you can do it then do, but often when you start it can be hard 2 figure out where to jump, when to jump and to get enough height. I like the equation 2 feet = full power, 1 foot = half power. But then its easyer to do running if you do it off 2 feet but only if you know the right technique
the most basic way to train a front flip is do a hand stand then land on you feet thats how i got the basics then i used the arm movements and i eventually got it

what is the better technique this or the russian frontflip technique?
typerfel 2 years ago
this
ParkourBlog 2 years ago
@typerfel don't listen to him. "better" is a term of preference. For instance I think russians look "better"
If you are looking for easier.. Usually this is the easier technique.. although he is wrong about what blocking is.

hey i dont have a trampoline but im trying it on the floor and i have a problem i always land on my back what do i do about it????
mrWorldofWacraft 2 years ago
your doing it wrong.
It should be almost impossible to land on your back doing this tecnique.
You're either not tucking enough or not throwing your arms enough
ParkourBlog 2 years ago
or you could do what i used to do and un tuck to soon go to your local gym and flip in the foam pit but stay in the ball do that over and over then flip and open up keep practicing you will soon get it

@mrWorldofWacraft i would say your simply throwing yourself downwards when u try to go up
its the hardest bit to do but you need to jump staright up

billytalent1997 3 years ago
You're either not tucking or not throwing your arms. Either that or you're trying to do it from a stand still.
