What is you preferred track tire setup when you have to drive to the track? I'm thinking of Nitto NT05's. What's your thoughts? My C6Z is completely stock. I'm also looking to change rotors/pads.
PS ... great driving! If you get the chance be sure to drive a VIR (Virginia International Raceway)! It is a great course
I really like Michelin Pilot Sport PS2. On the stock wheels I use 305 on the front and 345 on the rear. In fact, I have some extra 345 (rears) on ebay ending in a few hours. They are about $500 each new and I have two new ones with a bid of $660 now. So if you are interested, the item number is 140357720219. I also have some brake parts.
I was on this same tire combo in this video, and also at VIR. I have a video of VIR in the rain. I nearly wiped out a corner station.
BTW feel free to reach me at my direct line 866-293-2489 for any ideas on setup of the car. The alignment is key. I also have tried about every braking component and tires. I spend a lot of time on the track. :-)
Thanks. This is a track I know very well, which helps. The BMW Lightweight is driven by Russ Wiles. He is one of the most talented drivers I ever met, and has driven with some amazing teams. It is always fun to watch his lines ... and then pass him. :-)
There is a volume slider in the lower right corner of the video, and there are also volume controls that came with your computer. I will empower you to handle the music for yourself. How nice is that? I am granting you powers that you didn't even know you had!
The passenger had raced at Heartland Park Topeka but had not yet seen the latest configuration of turns 1 and 2 and 8 and 9. He asked for a ride to see the new line, and grinned from ear to ear after this ride. Good times in CopMagnet II (100% stock 2008 C6 Z06). Tire Rack was late shipping, so we had bald run-flats in front and bad old Potenza RE050A take-offs from my C6 Z51 (too small) on rear. We were sliding around, but still fast.
looks like a lot of fun...keep those vid's coming. maybe some smashing some italian cars.
