I was privileged enough to be able to see Real Steel at an early screening in Houston, and it surprised me. At first, I too I was of the opinion that it would be a dumb kid's movie, but it turned out to be a legitimate boxing movie. It certainly won't stand the test of time like Rocky, but it had real heart and I left the theater feeling very entertained and satisfied. It had emotional moments but none were pushed to the point of cheesiness. Its a good (if relatively late) summer blockbuster7/10

I hate that Christopher Nolan is the "mind freak" movie guy. all his good movies were either co-written or completely written by his brother Jonathan Nolan. Inception was Nolan's first sole writing gig and it was full of exposition, plot holes, and unnecessarily complicated.

@aftrFX lol because the movie is so unnecessarily complicated its really hard to say them with out going into detail about why they are plot holes but I'll just list the ones I can think of off the top of my head. first, when the van tumbled it should have woken up Arthur forcing everyone else into limbo. Secondly, Arthur didn't have to drag any of them to the elevator he could have just dropped the room they were in, he had complete control of the dream.

@aftrFX Saito's wound could have been healed for the same reason. They have complete control of the world, there's no reason they couldn't heal him. Then there's the whole Mal thing, Cobb could have at least told her what he did or even gone back into her head and fixed it not to mention he decided to try it on someone else knowing how it went with his wife. Also right after he kills the fake Mal saying she wasn't good enough, we're meant to accept not knowing if he really got back to his kids.

I think all Film State/ Film Riot fans would agree that these shows deserve way more exposure considering their awesomeness. As a true fan of Film Riot I am asking other fans, even if you only sometimes watch the show, to like this video and all future videos on this channel. It takes literally a second and helps so much for the exposure of the show. Normally disagree with asking for thumbs up on comments but I think Ryan deserves it after all the content he provides for us.

@timothemad I think the term you're refering to is 'selling out' (trading one's original style and content for profit and income). I think Filmstate/ Filmriot/ Triunefilms do an awesome job as it is and have a sizeable audience. The only reason their audience isnt as big as RWJ is because they dont attract the attention of little kids who live off toilet humor, manga references and memes. I'd prefer it if Filmstate's audience grew larger without them having to succumb to major stylistic changes.
