  • How did you guys build the castle walls?

  • @Domo230 2x4s and plywood to make 8 feet x 4 feet sections, then lag bolts to hold it all together

  • @pigpen7471

    Awesome thanks for the reply

  • also remember fabric weapon covers (and foam under tape) tend to be the more fragile thing on the field, not the other way around as would be realistic

  • not to imply fingers aren't deadly and common, or that not having hazards on the field is the key to avoiding them...the rares get you then, otherwise be in control and don't step on land mines or feet

  • then there's no hole in the castle until a game objective 'siege item' is moved into position outside and activated, pause and make hole or allow teleporting tunnels, etc

  • the high walls might grant +1 or +2 to ranged damage and be 1-way too ?

  • also maybe some arrow or ranged weapon shared bins on the inside, maybe with built in ranged with a unique look, maybe some neon?

  • another option might be finding a bunch of very flat rocks and gluing them, or otherwise coating the outside iwth acutal thin or dusty rocks and some glue, maybe contact or gorilla, elmers would work for that kind of for a while too

  • also how about irregular turrets and a 'great wall of china' or other paint job non flat? or maybe get some speckled stoney spray to replicate cement....i bet they used colored stones wedged together with or without binding or gravity back in the day, also maybe mounnt some foam 'oil' flingers or other built in weapons, defenses, traps too, maybe some fabric turret cover? irregular, defense advantage since they 'built' it

  • sanding is ok too, maybe paint the back with a thick exteroir latexy paint?

  • Maybe change the # to the year, possibly -2000? Also that castle's been around since, uh, i wanna say like 98, lookin nicer each year. Fits in a pickup too. :) One upgrade might be to coat all the edges with sojmething rubbery, like latex or rubber, pvc, tape, etc

  • @dfarough

I'm going to my first game this Sunday. Mind telling me a little about the scout class? A friend to,ld me it'd be wise to choose it, because it is the most versatile.

  • @dfarough Scouts ftw! When my points get transfered from assasin, I'll be level 2 scout as well. Bowz and healz ftw!

  • Hah, TB was poning behind the wall lol.

  • wish i could play! i want too sooo bad!

  • whats stopping you?

  • money :(

  • it dosent cost very mush, only have to make some weapons and garb, like $30

  • thanks pigpen!

  • @Kelvarra depending where you are you can playjust look for funny dressed people inparks on the weekend

  • what you should do is send your people charging at them. having your stronger ones in front and weaker in back.

  • Excellent Video man!

    I'm Cromer, also an Amtgarder

I live in Carson City, NV.

    My Amtgard group resides there.

    We are Fal Dare.

  • why not just get the biggest guy (or girl, i'm not sexist) to just charge through the gate, make a hole for the others, form a shield arc in the breach and fight like no tomorrow? Better one die, than the whole army be scattered, picked off, and slaughtered, am i right?

  • do you play amtgard?

  • no can't say i have, but the guy's i play with, we use that tactic all the time and it works very very well

  • 120 people were signed in.

That battle was awesome. I died so many times, but then I was playing backline healer, so not combat intensive role.

  • just stab them in the junck

  • for some reason i kept thinking henry V ... "Once more into the breach..."

How many people was this euber-geek fest? :-)

  • final count 118

in july im goign to an event in new mexico that will have 500-600 foam swinging nut jobs!

  • I'd be a little worried about the arrows. If someone hit you with a improperly padded pvc pipe thats one thing... but an arrow/stick with a pad on the end... I don't know. Has anyone ever been hurt with a bad arrow?

  • we have a VERY thick rule book. and no new weapons go on the field w/o being checked by a qualified person.

the only time you will really get hurt from an arrow is if you get in then nuts :(

  • I would be totally safe then!

  • u have done some fighinh w/ me, but i dodnt get to shoot u w/ an arrow, maybe next time!

  • looks like fun Sarah.

  • SOO much fun, you have no idea!
