No it is still a gimmick. You can have gimmicky things and still have a big game developer publish games for the hardware. Example nintendo wii, the whole console is based around a gimmick.

Now gimmicks aren't a new thing. I consider the rumble pack from the n64 a gimmick but the difference between that and things like natal and the wii is it didn't take away from the game play it enhanced it. I guess I'm just not understanding this motion detection thing craze. How is this better than a controller exactly? The stuff they showed from Lionhead at E3 was impressive because it was immersion. This is just child's play. With all of the mentioned capabilities of Natal, shouldn't they reach a little further for concepts?
